But whilst I was incapacitated a friend in the printing trade performed a miracle.
Kit here kindly lent me his Rs2 service book and from it we managed to make a brand new empty copy. My plan now is to visit the supplying dealer and all the garages where I know it was subsequently serviced and get it re stamped as much as possible. Happy days. Smile

I've had to take a little break from the project and postpone my road trip due to a little health issue
I wont go into boring details but let's just say that not only the car plugs into an ecu now and I'm banned from welding for ever
Anyone looking for a good mig or tig

    Thanks Anthony.

So I fitted a new set of NGK plugs and replaced two ropey insulator tubes and she is running much better. I took her for a little spin to test. This is up in the Preseli hills which is only a short drive away.

The grill clips arrived from Germany and were duly fitted.

Thankfully I was only missing three. They are expensive.

Dave we done the Audi museum in Ingolstadt and was amazing dedicate a day for it though. I can’t remember where we stayed but it was about 40 mile away. If you’re over there for a little bit a couple of places we loved was Trier, Cochem Koblenz they north and the Black Forest Friberg Titisee and Tribourg. Amazing places and when we stayed at Titisee we stayed 5 mile outside at a place called Saig absolutely amazing hotel there when you drive in

If it's just the boots arcing, wrapping them with electrical tape worked on my aan while i waited for parts. As ghetto as that is....

Do check/swap over the coil pack boots as they can be problematic rather than the coils themselves. Fat Audi 80 did a Group Buy on these many moons ago (220ish )

Dave, if you work out a way of testing the originals, and find one coil failing, I’ve got two complete sets here you can test and if you fine a good one, (which you will, they came off the Rallycar S4 engine and the S2, both had an annoying hot full load misfire, which was one coil breaking down), you can have them free.
