Thanks to Newsh I have a replacement fuel sender.

Tank is still a little full to contemplate fitting it just yet.
Some new trims also arrived from Germany. Quality looks good.

And I was missing my wheel brace. A quick check on etka revealed this is a Porsche part. Picked up one from a Porsche breakers for a reasonable price.
They are 19mm which is unusual.

I've done about 200 running in miles now.
It's running nicely but I do have a little coolant leak. I think it's the joint from the thermostat pipe to the hard line pipe that runs down the block.

Of course it's almost impossible to reach now everything is in the way.
I came up with this 7mm spanner with an extension which allowed me to tighten the jubilee clip a turn.

Thanks to Charlie (Cardcrash) here on the forum I have some good rear arch liners. One of mine was damaged. They are a pain to fit and by dropping the top wishbone joint, it was much easier.

That's much better.

Thanks. I have dash ones here and they are smaller. The door card ones are set in a plastic housing that screws onto the speaker cover. Not so easy to replace the speaker internals. I have been trying and its not gone well

I've got the little dash ones but not big enough to replace these I don't think budLeave a comment:

Just working through a few of the niggles.
First one is squealing front brakes. The ebc yellow pads have anti squeal plates on them but they are obviously not up to the job. Rikki sent me some spares a while back and I knew they would come in handy one day.

Then I only have sound from the front right speaker. The front left speaker was an easy fix as one wire had become detached. The two rear ones are less easy. Only checked the right one so far, but it's completely dead.

Anyone have any avant rear speakers for sale?

Dave.
Hopefully those fuel niggles are quick to fix
The car looks excellent! I know it's controversial and not "RS2" but the wheels in black on the car look great!
Top work as always

This confirms my problem is in the tank. It's a bit full to open at the moment.

So I swapped out the maf and now it runs perfectly.
Went to see a neighbour who also has the old Audi bug.

Unfortunately yes. Texaco 97 E5 is the best I could get locally.Leave a comment:

That is not a Shell Petrol Vendor. Am guessing you had limited choice.

I always thought that the RS2 looked a bit funny at the rear but I have to say that yours, Dave, really looks the dog’s ********!! I’m a silver car man 100%. Silver RS4 B8, silver S2 and silver uR MB lol.Leave a comment:

Thanks guys. I'm well please.
However my misfire got much worse on the drive home so I need to hook her up to vcds and see if there are any codes. There are a couple of things I haven't changed yet like the plugs, pos and the maf.
Annoyingly the fuel gauge packed up during the test and told me I was empty. I put five gallons of super in the other day so knew this was untrue.
Confirmed this at the filling station.

The gauge still reads empty!
I actually made the adjustments myself at the wheel alignment place. I also took my own spanners as the rear toe is very difficult without just the right length 19mm socket on a very thin ratchet.
I know the guy and he was happy to let me crack on.
I can go back for a check for free in a few hundred miles as it's bound to settle.
