The plan was to build some oil pressure with the plugs out but it's not turning over at all. The dash lights come on and the immobiliser light illuminates. Doh. I was half expecting this. It has an array of alarms and lights fitted so I'm going to be busy tracing all the wires and removing what I need to.
I believe the standard immobiliser should allow the engine to turn over but not start, or start briefly then cut? Anyone?

Love your thread Dave the quality of workmanship is to such a high standard and the detail of your thread with pictures is amazing. An inspiration mate. If you ever want to overhaul my S2 give me a shout lol!!
Some of the screws on the inside had some surface rust. They were cleaned and treated. Then the bumper went on nicely. I'm after a rear off side arch liner if anyone has a good one for sale. Mine has some damage.
The battery tray has been cleaned down as it had some rust in the corner and re painted in zinc then satin black.
You can use fuel pump basket from Audi 80 2.3 and Bosch 040 will fit p&p
That's good to know, I happen to have an 040 in my parts stash, just need the basket if I want to use it.
I quite like the black wheels on a silver car, though as you say they really should be the proper RS2 silver which is a Porsche wheel colour, not Audi.
I see you've gone for some really nice tyre's, in 225/45 by the looks of it.as opposed to 245/40's...
I just checked RS2 wheel spec's to double check the stock size and found they're actually 7.2 inches wide which I didn't know.
Charlie had one with 245/40 Michelin's on it, that LHD car and it actually drove fine once I upped the pressures to 35psi, though I think a 225/45 is a better option.
It's dead.
Dated 94, its the original pump. It's done well.
Now I do have a nice new Bosch pump. Just happened to be knocking about.
But I don't really want to chop up the basket to get it in.
I see Audi Tradition have the original pump for (sit down) 545 Euro.
However, the same Pierburg pump without the Audi part number is still available for about £150.

Whilst waiting for the pump, there is plenty to do.
The wheels got a clean. I'm not keen on black. They will be going back to silver when I get around to it.
No pics of me crawling under the car to do the wishbones.
Now both rear wheels are pointing in visibility and the eccentric bolts are as far as they will go. Something isn't right. I need to check a few things. I'm wondering if the aftermarket rear tie rods are the correct length. Head scratching.
