Yeah, I have done that now. I found that the treads where quite tight but it should seal well at least.

I startted to rebuild the maf today on the alloy body, need to smove off some of the inside welds though as they are just scruffing on the heat sink. Did you use Sikaflex to seal the body to the maf or the original gasket?

              Small update.

Removed the clutchnet clutch which looked like this:

The pressure plate is toast, the friction plate is still in very good condition.

              IMG_2360.jpg

I replaced it with a spec stg 3 racing clutch with unsprung friction plate.

I also replaced the flywheel with one thats had a shave.

Unfortunately the car has some sill damage which needs replacing before the MOT as it wont pass like this.
Im trying to source a replacement with out paying £180 for a new one.

Other then that its now basiaclly ready to go again. Just needs another new MAF and then she should be back and going strong.

Did you get any warranty for the pressure plate ?
What caused it to fail ?

MY Sachs 707 Pressureplate looked like yours did.

I contacted Clutchnet but after they replied and i sent them photos i have not heard back, i have sent them 4 other emails but so far nothing..
Thats not good for publicity as far as im concerned...

This happened during normal driving conditions, just felt it go through the peddle and then it didn't bite properly anymore, very strange.

I know clutchnet use old pressure plates and refurb them so i guess i just had a bad one..

Im the guy trying to sell one of his old doner cars.
Just want to know what miles it had done before the engine change so I can sell honestly, unlike those who sold to me... you know who you are!

                      Repaired the sill this weekend.

We ended up making our own one out of a 20gauge steel sheet as the one i bought via ebay didnt arrive .

Took about a day all in but we spread it out over a couple of days.

I didnt take many pics but heres a few:

The rotten section cut out and the new bit spot welded back in.

i then got on to welding it back on, theres no close ups of the welding slugs for a reason

Terry then cleaned up the mess with a sander and prepped the steel for primers stone chip and paint

We used a coat of etching primer and a few coats of normal primer

The finished sill looked as good as new

MOT will be next week, cant wait to get it back on the road!
