A few people have asked me about the speed sensor solution on the 0A3 gearbox. On the B6/B7 platform the VSS is taken from the ABS sensor, so there is no provision for a sensor on the gearbox like the 01E. The 01E speed sensor is a reed switch triggered off magnetic ring on the diff which earths a constant current signal from the speedo chip in the cluster, so the speedo chip sees a current pulse 8 times per wheel revolution.
I had a chat to Johne on the forum who was super helpful, and we decided to use a hall sensor with a pull-up resistor to generate the correct signal to feed the speedo chip. I needed a small spacer for the passenger side driveshaft, so this was perfect to incorporate a trigger for the hall sensor.
I just needed to add a 12v feed to the empty pin in the OEM speed sensor plug. Simples.
So I drew up the spacer and machined that, and then just needed to make up a little bracket for he hall sensor. Did some zinc/nickel plating with some help & advise from Eric (cheers mate

One hole is slotted to allow for adjustment, so I can make the right air gap, 1mm works perfectly:

I've done drawings for these bits too, so if anyone needs them in future....
