Timucin,
After reading this thread I take you as someone who is deffinitly open to advise. My friend Auditude (Ken) informed you about using a metal head gasket. Good thing, he read your post & was able to keep you from having future problems. Anyhow, I noticed in some of your pictures a few thing's. First I know it's too late make this change since the bottom end is already assembled. But I was just curious why you decided not to knife-edge the crankshaft? Wouldn't it have been worth the extra benefit & $$$ to do this since your project seems to be a very high dollar investment? Also, wouldn't it have been worth the extra effort to have your JE piston thermal coated to add extra protection to the pistons. Or did you feel that it was not needed for your specific application? It's my understanding that some of these coatings can actually help to reduce cylinder tempatures by displacing heat more efficiently. I know that my thoughts may seem alittle over protective but concidering the dollar amount invested into your engine it deffinitly seems more then worth it.
Time to move on! In some other photo's I noticed pictures of your gauges. I see you have two fuel pressure gauges. Are you running an independant fuel supply dedicated strictly to your nitrous system? If so how big of a shot do you plan on running? Also, I see you have a Autometer Air/Fuel ratio gauge. I have to say I don't think this gauge is gonna live up to your expectations. These gauges although they look pretty & match your other gauges, they just don't seem accurate enough for your application. I think your gonna need something that is alittle more specific so you may want to concider a better gauge that comes with it's own seperate wide band 02 sensor. These types of gauges are extremely accurate and display air/fuel ratio's digitally so you know exactly what ratio your engine is receiving, for example (12.5:1) & considering your investment I think you may want to reconsider putting your faith into the Autometer A/F-R gauge. And finally I didn't notice a EGT gauge, do you plan on installing one of these to monitor exhaust tempatures? Good luck with the project & thanks for sharing with all of us.Last edited by nostrixoxide; 12 July 2004, 05:41.Comment

crankshaft: there is no place here to knife edge my crank, and new one is very expensive
pistons are coated already
egt:installed on car long time ago
fuel pressure:yep i made a mistake on selection but then realized and sold those to my friends ,ordered new one which i am planning to receive this wednesday.it writes 'mount-outside of vehicle' on these ones, very strange ,i ordered the electronic ones with box, and cables etc
rich/lean monitor: it has its own o2 sensor on it,about being accurate: will search for better
thnx for advices

If You are loking for a good o2 gauge go for AEM Wideband UEGO Controller http://www.rpmoutlet.com/aemgauge.htmAKmotorsport.net - Manufacturing Motorsport parts that do the job. | Audi S2 on Facebook | Best way of reaching me is sending email to albert@akmotorsport.netComment
