Lovely, and I think it's funny when so much hard work went in the car you just put a pipe under the bonnet to keep it up

Best. Combo. Ever. Those wheels on a white SWB are better than porn, even the dirty stuff.Leave a comment:

Just been out and weighed a wheel. It was a 10.5" wheel as the 10's are on the car. It came to 6.8kg with steel bolts. The titanium bolts should save about 100g.Leave a comment:

Nice to hear this!, looks stunning and 3kg lighter on an important place
If you could tell me how much weight I'll compare with my azev a 9x16....but I think that the bbs will be more lighter, even with 10"Leave a comment:

They are 3kg per wheel lighter than the Mercedes Penta wheels. I cant remember the exact weight now I will have to put them on the scales again, they are super light.Leave a comment:

I like it very much with the new BBS shoes, more than MB, how much weight without tyres?? and the titanium bolts, 20 per wheel x 4 ...80 little and expensive bolts
also they are stronger and lighter than originals
Your engine bay it's very clean, and has a custom timing belt cover, nice to see

So at the end of last year the engine was running fine bar being down on boost had had a developing oil leak from the front plate. I had the front of the engine in bits anyway to change the cam belt and dry sump belt so I pulled the front plate off. It was leaking where the oil is fed into the main gallery. The engine runs 85psi of pressure so its no wonder it had come past the gasket. I have hopefully cured this by having the plate machined for an O ring. I forgot to take any pictures and fingers crossed I wont get the chance to any time soon!
The nest job to sort was adding a catch tank to the crankcase. It was open to the atmosphere with a rubber flap covering it but it had been letting a little oil out so it needed sorting properly. First job was to machine a new blanking plate with a -12 fitting pushed in.

I bought a Moroso catch tank as it was exactly what I was after and came with a nice clamp:

Plate in place on the block and a little bracket made to hold the tank:

Breather in place:

Also on the picture I have added a shut off valve to the oil feed. When the car was sitting for long periods it would gradually drain the entire oil tank into the engine. This will only be shut off when parked up for long periods. I am also thinking of adding a switch to the lever for the ecu power so it cant run if the valve is off.
I have also added a larger brake pedal to the Tilton pedal box. I was finding it hard with such a small pedal (it was the same size as the others) to get enough pressure on. I was going to make my own but just before Christmas Tilton made their own, obviously others have had the same issue.

Next was the low boost issue. At the last event I suspected it had sheared the boost controller wire when the alternator was throwing belts. However when I inspected it at the event I could only find this damage which hadn't cut through it:

When I got it off the car for a closer look further up the wire was rubbed clean through:

So I have pieced a bit of wire back in and we will be back up to proper boost!
I have replaced the cam cover bolts which were stainless button heads with titanium cap heads. I couldn't tighten the button heads enough and it was seeping a little oil, oh and they look cool!

So the engine is all back together and hopefully should be fluid tight again fingers crossed! Looking forwards to getting some use out of it this year!
