    Lmao about both cans.

For the front center console, pm stiglett as he's got two that he's selling cheap with the dials/ashtray etc, plus loads of other spares if your interested. He's online now as well

I've gotta get my arches rolled slightly especially for the new rims i'm after and get some small spacers for my rears then should be fine with my setup hopefully. I want it lower tho

        Boot fitted.
You can see the mess on the old one. Dented, weird smudge marks and lots of peeling lacquer.
Relatively straight forward, will let the pictures do the talking.

                Oi...

Paint that number plate trim red...see what you think, and those rings are a little low.

Not bad...runs off quickly and hides...

Still friends with your painter after that?

Nah, going to keep it black. Rings purposely put a little lower, dunno why, just did

Aerial goes up, aerial goes down .
If it wasn't for the existing hole in the rear quarter, it'd have retrofitted a beesting on the roof and forgotten about it.

Yeah if it was me after what happened to your last one i'd have removed it and plated over the hole and fitted one that sits in the rear window base.

When me and the bro were fitting the lowering springs, we were finishing up and had two cans of fosters ready, Bro put them under the front bumper to keep them in the shade, I forgot and dropped the car off the jacks and nigh on squashed flat both cans
Jas, I had 205/40-17s on my cq20v when I bought it. It used to ground out everywhere, until I put some proper sized tyres on it. It made quite a difference to ground clearance without spoiling the 'slammed' look.

                        Looking good BTW.

Yeah, can't wait to get them off TBH. The wheels themselves have grown on me, but the tyres are just silly
No worries though, after Saturday it'll be five stud all the way and 6 spoke avus

                          .................................................. .................................................. ..................

The car now sports four laser red S2 Avant doors. Fronts didn't come with handles, so had to use my original black ones, but no problem as I'll mask and spray them red.
Zero dents and the paint is in great condition

                              Just caught up with thread's

last few pages, thrilled skinny to see how you achieved the 4 x 108 to 5 x 112 conversion, thank you to Wolfgang in Germany also.

Car looks better and better, looking very close to the benchmark S2 saloon photo,

BTW what does it ride like on the Spax 60mm lowering springs, compared to the original standard set up it came with? I am assuming that the shocks are about mid life, i.e. not brand new, but not totally on their last legs?

Also looking forward to seeing the real photos of it on Avus rims with the 225/45/17 tyres, and also again would be interested in your comments as to the change in ride quality, handling etc. ?

As a BTW, can anyone suggest where I might get two new S2 Avant front Koni ( top adjustable ? ) shocks at a half decent price and without too much grief or delay in the UK ( or better still in Southern Ireland ) ?

Fully understand about your reply regarding the interior, but here's one for you, had a mint Mk2 Golf Recaro and it's original matching sub-frame, ordered an Audi 80 Recaro sub-frame from Demon Tweeks (stg£90.00) arrived to Dublin after about 3 weeks and swopped over the sub-frames and now I have a mint Mk2 Golf Recaro in the S2 which greatly improves the feel of driving the car, making one feel more connected to the car and less of a person hanging onto a steering wheel and sliding around on a factory leather seat.

IMHO each of these small upgrades make a nice / noticeable difference (upgraded ARBs) on a standard car, but naturally avoid going too extreme to avoid it becoming too much like a race track refuge and it losing its everyday drivability.

I'd recommend interested parties to consider upgrading their seat to a slightly more sporty one, if you are not lucky enough to have the factory Recaros, but not so "buckety"" that it is a pain to get into and out of after the novelty has worn off. One last thing is that most people will be shocked at the weight of a standard S2 front seat. Don't attempt to take it out if you've got any sort of a dodgy back. Get an assistant !

So much for "I'll just do a quick post to complement Jas on a fascinating thread and brilliant job to date and wish him continued good luck with the car".

                              Kind regards Jas !

Rides pretty well to be honest.
It won't be having 225/45/17's though, it's getting the standard 16" six spoke Avus

Well tell a lie, it will getting 17's with 225/45's for a couple of day's after Saturday when we hub swap. Forgot the Avus are in my dads garage and he's swanning around abroad until late Sunday
