If you want some fun turn up the passenger seat but say nothing to your passenger. Priceless watching them squirm around looking confused

Nope, tis definitely finished. I've done all I want, apart from fitting some later front door cards and a dash trim panel.
Enjoyed it, car looks something different to the normal 80's you see on out roads, gets great mpg for the work run and I don't have to worry about driving with a bag on my head as I did with the POS shed I bought.
Yep, as Bugs Bunny would say, "That's all folks"

Fair comment, does look good though, hats off to you
BTW, how do you declare everyting with the insurance company, iirc, i had a right song and dance when i upgraded the wheels on our A3, just wondering if there is a simple way of doing it or not.1999 A3 1.8T Quattro Silver

I'm with Chris Knott and got everything declared, even down to telling them about the boost gauge.
Funnily enough, it was the wheels that made the biggest difference as the boggo standard 80 TDi didn't come with alloys.
The guy I dealt with, asked what was the difference in the exterior bodywork when I sent him the photos

We have both cars with Privledge, never had cause for concern and have been with them for over 10 years now, as i say only hiccup was with shoving 17's on the A3, done the decent thing and told them, explained they were genuine OE Audi wheels, not replicas, just an inch bigger, explained that Audi wheel locks were also fittted, emailed photo's over and after all that they wanted an extra £98 per year
After a brief chat with the underwriters they agreed to cover the car as per normal with no increase in premium but an extra £50 excess applied to the wheels if they get stolen, so after all that i am looking forward to explaining an S2 bumper on a 16v Coupe!
Has to be done though, not worth the hassle else.
Friend ran a 2003 1.9 PD TDi A6 Estate, sorry 'Avant' and he had the ECU played with to the tune of 180 ish BHP, never told his insurance company and when he ran up the botty of a 307 he was told he may not be covered as the repair centre had 'noticed' an increase in power and asked Audi to investigate, after much lying and fibbing they accepted his explanation that he had bought it as was and 'assumed' that the power delivery was normal for a 130 BHP oil burner. He has a 530 touring now, homo.
As i said, not worth the hassle.

Mine's on an agreed value policy, same as the S2.
With that, I have to tell them everything for them to agree what I/we/they think the car is now worth.
It's been a good project in that regard :mischeif:

This 80 never had a dash panel on the passenger side. Just the recess for the badge fitted to whichever model, ie Coupe, Audi 80, quattro, Audi 90, competition, sport edition etc etc.
I'm not keen on the competition badge I have on the dash. It's not a competition.
I want a panel on the dash.
I have an old zebrano (truely awful fake wood thing) dash trim from ions ago that came from my first ever Coupe, it had a scratch when I bought it off my dad so I replaced it way back.
I'm going to take said zebrano trim cover it with some carbon effect vinyl (not cheapy crap) and fit it to my dash.
As easy as, make a template, drill the dash and fit it.
Recess for badge (which all models have, it's covered by the dash panel in a car that came with panels from the factory)

Me not likey as it is now;

You need some washers to attach it to the rear.
Found them on ebay >>> LINKY
4mm are the ones needed for a dash trim.
Anyway, for future searches when I forget, they are called Starlock washers.
Carbon look sheet came from my friend the sticker lady.
It is a heatshrink type vinyl, but I wanted it to look as close to real carbon as I could get. Not cheap, but she's a gem and sorted me with enough to make a few mistakes for a real good price. I have put some cash her way with the quattro decals though.
The pain is not only the corners, but that the whole panel doesn't have one flat surface about it.
Convex across it's width, concave along it's length, with a big curve up on the side towards the centre of the car, along with those corners.
After a couple of failed attempts, I'm now happy with the result.
