This is how my engine bay looks like ATM.
The transparent plastic tube is for detecting engine knock inside the car with my sophisticated headphones system, as provided by Pro-mo racing service.
I still need to find a fix to close the cam cover as the 034MS HO coils are a bit (1-2mm) too high. Also I am trying to fit in the 034MS catch can kit. The main problem is that it's designed for an AAN engine bay
so you understand it does not fit in the crowded ABY one.
O yes and I am working on a design to fit the open air filter in a separated compartment in the engine bay.Comment

I received a package today from Pro-mo racing.
A new AEM dry flow filter 9" x 6" with 3,5" connection for the piping.
And some wider ARP stud washers, as advised by Jyrki, to avoid the head get's damaged with all that high boost
Looks I have something to do this weekend!Comment

A small teaser of our recording of tonight, still running the airbox and K&N air filter. We made much more recordings, but Nero will compile a nice vid from all footage
Tomorrow I will try out fitting the AEM dry flow filter.Last edited by Bram; 21 November 2009, 22:39.Comment

If you read the info at the Youtube page you see what is causing the whistle sound (or squeel if you call it like that).
It's a leak in my air filter box (I have been breaking a bit too much out of it yesterday which I could not fix before the recordings
), and the fact that my K&N panel filter is too small for this turbo, thus creating a vacuum in my airbox with additional turbo surge.
The turbo sucks too hard at the moment for that small filter.
In the coming video compilation you will hear the surge sometimes which sounds a bit different from the whistle sound.
Today I have been fitting a temporary tube system for the AEM filter with a heat shield, so I will try later this week if that helps.
I think within a few weeks I will make some day light recordings as well, incl the new AEM air filter setupLast edited by Bram; 23 November 2009, 09:16.Comment

Well the filter works quite well, so if a bird is able to pass though there I will eat it once it comes out of the exhaust pipes OK?
You should listen this video on your living room speakers or headphones instead of these small laptop speakers. Then you will hear the grunt it has

I just received some 76mm aluminum bends, from which I will have to make a "dahlback air filter tube system". For now I used some temporary PVC from the tools shop to fit the AEM air filter and my home made heat shield. It closes off very nicely at the bottom and top, so I am looking forward to a drive in the car and test this new setup.
Eventually I would like to make a real air box around the AEM filter, but that takes a lot more time to do it properlyAttached FilesComment

I could not wait any longer for Nero to make a nice compilation of the night recordings. Here are some individual snaps:
