i thought that that may be the case, may just start with springs and build on the setup as i go to keep it at a confortable level

      delivery came..

Ordered a few bits last week as i had money burning a hole in my pocket
And it all came today so after being like a child at christmas tearing my parcels open to find the treats inside, i thought i'd take a pic to keep the project thread movivg along, anyway, heres what i got:
Webshots puts 5,000+ HD & 4K desktop wallpapers on Windows & Mac and rotates them automatically — a real upgrade from Windows Spotlight and macOS wallpaper shuffle. Free trial, screensaver included. Trusted since 1995.

got the throttle cable, wgfv and intercooler-x member hose from vag parts.never used them before but i'm very happy with the service.
The backbox came from jetex who i have used before and as ever the service was great-just can't wait to get it banged on.The length of pipe is to remove the center silencer and just have a single box.The pipework on the new rear box is 2.75" so i will be fitting a 2.75" center section and downpipe at some point-i know most will say 3" is best but i feel 2.75" will be more than sufficient for my needs powerwise.
      anyway-iv'e got parts to fit

It's the downpipe that needs to be 3" for 300+, the rest of the system should be fine at 2.75". Have fun fitting that little lot

If your doing the exhaust really should be 3" as you don't want to upgrade it again if you go for more bhp however the downpipe is most important bit! this must be 3" the rest at 2.75 will be o.k.

well i've decided to be abit more relistic powerwise-aiming for around 380 on an rs2 setup mainly becuase it's cheaper and easier and will keep a degree of reliability, hence 2.75" exhaust but will definately go for a 3" downpipe if it's as worthwhile as you guys say
oh and the front"y" section will be going in favour of a single pipe and i will also be ditching the cats-again any thoughts on that would be greatly appreciated.

holy mother of god!! my baby You've got it back to almost the point where I started

only joking. That's some serious work you've been doing mate. My hat off to you. It was always going to need a fair bit of work to make it seriously tidy but you've taken it down a whole new route now and I'm really looking forward to seeing its reincarnation.

absolutely mate. It's destined to be a far finer piece of engineering in your hands the it everwould have been in mine. It would have seen way too many biscuit crumbs and sticky fingers if it had remaned with me. And my son might have made a mess too! aha! ah. erm. sorry. i'll get my coat.

Yes the rear box is nice,i find the jetex stuff is good quality at a good price, the only criticism i have if them are the welds-they aren't polished but i can't say i'm too bothered
should start fitting on sunday-weather permitting!
i just hope it all goes smoothly, already got a few quid in the kitty towards the next pile of parts so will continue being buisy for some time to come

                        small update

well after much blood sweat and tears i finally got the rear box on and the center silencer removed, she now looks like this:

it sounds totally different-more "meaty" for want of a better word
this is a comparison of the new pipe diameter compared to the old powerflow pipework:

all in all it was a **** of a job,i even had to remove the antiroll bar due to the need to twist the box downward for the stupid flange to clear the inner cv joint but the results were well worth it,can't wait to finish the rest of the system.i will get round to fitting the rest of the parts this week sometime but it doesn't help with the amount of daylight rapidly dissapearing

god that looks good. do you reckon the powerflow one was just 'mince' as they'd say up this way?

Rs2 farb (mine came from vagparts again)

Thats the best setup from what i've heard and been in etc.

Thats exactly the setup I have (except I have stock bushes), great on the roads round here, which are shocking but stiff enough for a trackday or the Ring.
