Yeah, mine has Procon-ten and it's a '94, loads around that era do, me mate Al's Avant did and that too was a "M". Means I can have a nice Momo and get the beautiful Nardi wheel as OE

If I remember right each cable has a solid cylinder on the end (bit like the end of the handbrake cable or the door release cable where it fits into the handle) that hooks into a bracket on top of the gearbox. But yeah to take the gearbox out you need to unhook the 2 cables. I'm sure there's a little slack in them though. If you can see the top of the gearbox (if you have your IM and stuff off) there's a chance you might see the ends. If you take the whole engine out you can see them very well though

lol depends on what way you take it out....its like a pulley mounted flat on top of the gearbox if that makes sence..although its only one half and doesnt move.....i get the feeling were going to need a picture cos i cant describe anything atm.......
anyway.. if you take it out forwards...no problem, taking it off backwards is a bit more involved, having said that it was a while since i was last under my car....
i'll hide under my chair just incase...

          finally a little progress..

It's been a while since i posted on my project thread, mainly due to money,a lack of time and a lack of any decent work to keep the money coming in,but luckily i've been blessed with a smaller tax bill than i expected and have found some work making a few one-off's (joinery),which finally leaves me with some money
i thought i'd start to get the rest of the exhaust system finished off -that being the down pipe and center section.
I've opted for a 3" downpipe and straight through center-should sound when it's done.
The down pipe will be on it's way soon, but the rest is here(the day after ordering)
so thankyou jetex once again for a second to none service.I also got some silicone hose(to tidy up the charge pipes) and a yellow spring for my recirc valve(from forge) as the green one isn't cutting the mustard IMO
          piccy

and a little mock up of the center section:

will start putting it all together when the down pipe arrives

on an other note,i've seperated the wastegate pipe from the downpipe just for giggles
needless to say i wont be doing it on my new system-it sounds like the car is on deaths door
The next batch of parts will probably be for a really good service as i think it needs it,as well as new fuel lines,as one is weeping.I think air may be getting in as a result and causing some starting problems

          Anyway-will update again soon

You need to copy the direct link to the image from webshots and then do this: [ img ] paste image address [/ img ] without any spaces (I had to use them to make it show up)

If you look just above the bit where you type there's a yellow square with a mountain on it, click that, paste the URL (careful to avoid having 2 lots of http) and Bob's your muvva's bruvva

well finally progress should be coming relatively thick and fast.
I managed to find the time to fit the spring in the dumpvalve and the silicone hoses to join the charge pipes, now leak free-for good

                            car in bits again:

                            down pipe:

a wee bit of mocking up prior to welding:

got roped into making this for my bro:

in return he took the pipework to his garage to weld up,as i neither had the time or the same level of equipment
                            the finished articles:

so come this saturday i will be fitting the exhaust at my grans(they have a service pit in the garage)along with new fuel lines
I've also got yet more parts on order-roll cage from custom cages and service parts from quattro corner.
I've got a couple of extra jobs lined up for some extra money-this should be enough to get the new seats, the harnesses, new steering wheel and hub,not forgetting a boost gauge.
Whats the opinion of the steering wheel i fancy?

anyway-back to my beer, updates will follow in the next few days
