Hey Vadim, I have them with me and the longest travel I did was 10 hours non stop since Poole in Uk to my town .stoping every 2-3 hours. They are much more comfortable than they looks

I have eaten my second gearbox .I'm stopped with the coupe in my testing road.

3 gear died at 6500 rpm and 1.6 bar

i am a "bit" dissapointed with the new gearbox removal and now...i really can drive the coupe....but i lost the 3rd and 5th gears...because i cant shift them and also while driving in the town carefuly the box makes some weird noises

as today was one of my best days with the coupe.... look what i found in the mourning....




downpipe cracked¡¡¡¡ this is the one we bought some years ago tanks to Jonas R in swedem








and now...due to the HOT in the engine bay.....










i managed to solve the problem i re-fitted again the bmc filter .....thanks to this i could destroy the gearbox at the night



so :

1- i have to buy and install another gearbox
2- i have to buy another new BMC 90mm cone filter
3- i have to repair or buy another 3" downpipe (good chance to put screamer pipe as i failed in love with the competition one )

i am also "tired" with the 80 Competition and its continue "still work to do" ,having since the beginning SERIOUS iddle problems....and after used 2 TPS and 3 iddle valves....i am a bit desperated more than iddling is mostly whem i release the accelerator pedal at low revs....
i have to tell that VAGCOM does not says anything....got both cars with 0 faults

i am starting thinking about to remove the whole coupe stock engine + gearbox....(i have to remove the box ANYWAY ...and put on it tne Competition engine +RS4 box...everything together....with also OF COURSE,the downpipe....

the coupe has the same wiring harness so it should dont be a problem...and maybe i could solve the misterious iddling problem?¿

I only helped out with that group buy But it is kinda bad that is has broken already. Maybe you should buy one from 034MS and get it modified so it fits. Mine has last 6 years and counting.

Regarding the gearbox then no parts please, but I'm open for offers.

Your downpipe has obviously been leaking for some time as that crack hasn't happened overnight. It could be welded up when you take it off, however it would be wise to locate the source of the stress or it will happen again. Do you have a flexi section and it there any point where it's secured before it meets the main section of your system?

Whas that the 20v box that's gone?

The source of the problem is the use of the stock flexi, aside from being stupidly restrictive you should look to replace it as I bet it's been stretched to fit the aftermarket downpipe meaning it is "tugging" on the wastegate mate on the downpipe

Really should replace these things with aftermarket downpipes
