It was the same as I have fitted; Stage-2 endurance, with an organic/ferrous friction plate. Interesting to see that they no longer offer this combination, you have to buy the stage-3 pressure plate. If I recall the rating on this was 415ft/lb so Andy is right on the limit, perhaps a little over.

The thing is there wasn't any signs of an issue - I don't know the cause of the failure but sounds to me like the friction plate is the point of failure here, Andy wasn't aware until it was stripped down and there had been no slip.

A bit worrying, my car is making daft midrange torque so I doubt I'm too far behind his figures, but it's far less sustained as mine only see's normal road driving. Andy's car sees a lot of sustained track action until high load, seems it's not quite up to the task when on the limits of it's power rating.

Out of interest, what spec Southbend unit did you have fitted Andy?
An over-powered clutch does not last long, whatever it's rating.

Hmm. That is weird. My southbend is still going and hasn't had an issue other than the bearing breaking down soon. I'm replacing that with a metal one now.

Sorry to hear that Andy , what's gone wrong with the clutch? did you have any symptoms of it breaking down .

I'll second that!! When I drove Jamo's car I must have stalled it five times just getting out of MRC's carpark

i use the clutch on the picture from sachs with organic plate and 3b single flywheel
i have now a 500hp engine setup and i'm still tuning but for now it hold
    however,the clutch pedal feels heavy
specs are 520nm but as soon I'm on the dyno i think i go over 520nm torque

Thats what im running in mine and been really happy with it. It takes a bit of getting used to pulling away with the lightened flywheel though

Which Sachs did you go for?

I have the Sachs Racing 707 ( ? ) pressure plate with the organic disc and it seems to be holding up well with very little sign of wear after 12k miles

If anybody has a steering rack that is in good condition and not leaking please let me know!

Not yet, just waiting to confirm what the damage is and what needs replacing, and what we can get before the weekend.

They definitely test your patience sometimes! Did you manage to source a new clutch?
