Again, age related, the roof lining was showing signs of wear. It did not warrant a full retrim, but the B and C pillars were very tatty with the material torn.
A bit of a **** up as this was meant to be black Alcantara :cryin:
Too late, but looks OK I guess
My in car stereo was also not sounding right. A blown tweeter being the culprit, I replaced them with some full range 3" Hybrid Audi drivers in the dash.
My car is booked in with Automark for some further tweaks
When it goes there it will have to have the clutch MC changed as the pedal does not like releasing.
When this is done, the other A pillar needs doing along with the rust on the back door.
Something for late summer/autumn.

THE ONLY TROUBLE WITH DOING NOTHING IS KNOWING WHEN YOUR FINISHED!!!
It's great to see your able to take care of all these details sir. I did a quick search and couldn't find this so - a question about your previous front springs (IIRC, originally you may have had some that you felt were too stiff, correct?) and current rear springs choice also please. I see your new front spring code (350 lbs.), how much were the previous ones you thought too stiff; and those deemed too light? At the rear what rate did you choose? Thanks. Oh, and did your top-mounts survive so far?
Hi David,
There is a bit of irony here, in the fact that the reason my for the harsh ride was the front springs were too soft. They were only 175lb springs. Essentially, they were not assisting the dampers at all. The 175lb fronts were recommended by a 'specialist suspension' company. They obviously got it very wrong.
I do believe the rears are running 250lbs.
The new front springs, together with the 215/40 (up from 205/40) have completely changed the way the cars drives. It is still firm, but forgivable now.
The top mounts are still on. That side was not touched. To be honest though. Due to the lock-down restrictions, I really have not been out driving the car much. Everything was properly tested after the suspension with new springs was fitted, but that is about it.
The salt is off the roads now and there is a relaxing of some of the rules coming. Fingers crossed, I will be able to drive her more frequently in the summer months.
Interesting how those two components together made for that perhaps counter-intuitive sensation. One sometimes hears of the matching necessary between the two, but one seldom hears the specifics of such a case. Good to know, thanks for all that sir.

So you have 350lbs on the front and 250lbs on the back now?

It has been so long since I had standard suspension and more recently, a setup that was working properly, so it is difficult to answer that.
What I can say is that the ride is far more compliant now than it was - no crash, bang wallop every time it goes over the tiniest imperfection on the road.
I have also driven in a fairly spirited fashion around bends and roundabouts and like the ride comfort overall.
If you are ever about at a show (i.e. AITP), I would happily take you for a short spin so you can pass your own judgement. Afterall, this would be very subjective
For the master, done a couple, I've found by jacking the car up, and then kneeling outside the car with the door wide open its all quite accessible with the parcel shelf out
Upside down in the footwell is a horrid place to be, never want to repeat that.
