I like the “sleeper” look Chris, that’s going to take a few people by surprise

I went to the gathering at The Star on Sunday. Just as I was coming off the M25, I had some hesitation from the engine. Same started happening on my way home. Nothing obviously wrong so took it easy and got home,.
That's when I heard the fuel pump screaming away. No obvious reason for failure (no debris found in filters), so new pump ordered :wall:Audi 90 quattro (Typ 85)

Trying to keep away from people, I decided to go for a drive today. What a beautiful sunny say with lots of cold air
Taking just about the only positive with what's going on around us, the roads are quite empty!
Managed to take a some of photo's

I have not had the inclination to follow the forums for a while now.
A fair amount of bits have been sorted however.
The general ride in the car had been poor (hard) and deteriorated even more over time.
It transpires that the springs on the front were actually too soft.
New harder springs and accordingly re-valved B6 dampers were fitted
A big shout to Charlie at CGMotorTech (Leighton Buzzard) and Gaz Shocks here.
They spent a lot of time working out the best solution, Gaz do not make their own springs and despite that, were very keen to help. They even suggested staying with the Bilsteins.

I also bought a new set of boots for the old girl.
When fitted, this highlighted something that I had not really noticed before.
The wheel sat off centre in the arch. No obvious damage, so it must have been like this. The different profile brought this to light
The ride in the car is so much more tolerable now.

The age of my car is slowly catching up with it.
The dreaded rust has hit in the usual place, namely the A pillars.
Not a lot of rust, but a lot of work to get to it. Bumper, windows and doors off and windscreen out. Rust removed and new metal welded in:wall:
One side down, the other to do
