    that looks real nice Mark

I'm going to wait till I see yours before I attempt to fit mine.

Do the original hoses still fit the PS pump when it has moved that far down? Does it clear the thermostat cover ok - becasue that looks close on mine before I have moved it!

Another thing I noticed on mine was that the bracket that holds the throttle cable - it must be different between the AAN and ABY - I don't have the AAN black part so I need to make custom mounts to fit the ABY bracket - is that right?

Hope you get it started soon

That looks excellent mark, think it would be a bit too much of a PITA to do the AAN intake myself.

Good luck getting her finished off now

        Doug,

no you have to turn it around so that it is pointing the other way, havent done it yet, will need some more hose and a joiner. Plus the rad is going to have to go back in at an angle I think.

@Vadim, I will post what parts need to be changed when doing the mod.

        Cheers,

        Mark.

Mark - I am sure other 5 cylinders have different sized or angles thermostat covers - maybe that would help? Doesn't take much to cut and weld though - you've had plenty of practise!

LOL, looks like im a bit of a hypercrit. But it was the only bit of engine/car i could have at home until the engine was rebuilt.

Sounds all a bit too much hassle for such a small gain (for the effort). Maybe im wrong? What sort of improvement in power/driveability is there to be had from a front intake manifold then?

AAN and 200-3B thermostat covers point backwards, AFAIK all type89 covers are the same that point a bit down and front.

I am slowly getting there, spent most of the day remounting the bigger oil cooler down low, there is just so little room in these cars. Just a few more things to do, hopefully most of which I'll get done tomorrow, I am aiming to get it fired up next weekend, as long as the air filter (HKS) I am ordering turns up in time. This will be mounted right behind the front grill straight onto the MAF.

                        Mark.

Yep I guess thats one of the benefits of having the throttle body at the front, it gives some scope and room for routing the hoses to get the intake well away from the ex manifold.

Well its going to be tight, hope to get it started next weekend and then I have to get it MOT'd, which I suspect is going to be more aggro as I dont have cats fitted. I just hope it all stays together OK, as I have a lot of bolts left over
