Boy, do I feel safe with me caps on.

          What's their explanation?

I have personal experience of both, melting and seizing, and I didn't feel safe with the melted plastic in the valve, or when yanking the aluminum cap and the valve with wisegrips.

I've had metal valvecaps seizing before and its definately not good, one of which was that bad it damaged the valve mech so had to have the wheel/tyre taken off and it changing which was a right pita.

Chef, does this mean you have been racing the beast, or only a tire change?

The guy i get them from uses them on his Time attack evo with no issues, the cup cars weigh in at around 1375kg and i bet the cornering force they put through the tires would be a dam sight more than that you or i would.

err, yep would agree with that statement If they are anything like my track day rubber, the tirewall is bloody stiff!

Yep, had 3 sets knicked in 3 weeks, gave up and use rubber ones now and even those one have been stolen once.

I don't know how much you will be making G in the corners, but GT3 RSR is doing about the same, like my Audi ~2-2.2G.
But keep in mind front weight of Porsche is way less then front weight of Audi, it's RWD and cup cars total mass is 1200kg..
