I'd hazard a guess at a drain blockage etc for the water ingress, dry it out and see if it comes back its probably left over from something else.

Glad to see your getting more progress back with this, i've still got some bits for you

yeah its dry for now....lets see how long it takes to return. I did spend a bit of time using a jet of water to get rid of mould and crap along the door and rear qtr colour coded trim insert s wonder if it works its war in under pressure.

Best leave all the rear door cards out (like me ). I've ditched all the bitument sound deadening you can see on the arch there too, hardly any of it is still stuck properly anyway.

Water in the sill could be from a missing drain plug.

The water I was getting in the rear footwell was from the front black triangles, it was then wicking under the wiring loom and through the gap where the blower diffuser goes (under the seat).

Ditch the central locking motor, it weighs too much (and the rear seats, and the rest of the interior )

it currently has no carpet, less tar, no sound deadening, no cats, no spare and no rear bench. Cards will be removed for track days naturally but I need a couple of creature comforts in place for the roadtrip Oh, removed the servotronic box as was redundant too so that another 100grams gone

wheels off later today to be shod in new boots...The FK452's fitted for ÂŁ310 via Merityre which is about as good as i could do ordering via Camskill and trhen getting fitted locally.

Camskill do a bloody good price on the Ds2500's...ÂŁ104 delivered!!! shame i didnt see that before and saved myself ÂŁ15 on circuit supplies.

had a couple of hours to myself this morning so thought with the car up on axle stands would have a go at trying to sort my horrible propshaft vibration out. had the prop off the car within 35 minutes which for being on your back with little real space to swing anything wasn't bad even for me

Would appear that its certainly been banging about under there and the culprit......rear CV on the prop has jerky and limited movement so am presuming that it didn't like rotating causing it to get shockingly noisy about about 80mph

Anyway, never scrapped the original one so pulled this out, treated it to a bit of TLC and its ready to be slung back on the car when the rain eventually stops.

Am hoping i will rid myself of the vibrations and as its the original and i have the correct shims, once i have aligned everything, she should be goot for German autobahns again :-)

Changed the brake fluid for a fresh load of Castrol Super Response Dot 4 and shes had new oil and filter - starting to get there

                        pics later...

took a step closer today....prop back on along with the exhaust - bit of a pig of a job to get it square when you're doing it by yourself but with a little use of a trolley jack got there in the end - definately better than when I hung it last so thats a bonus

replaced the discs and pads with new DS2500's and a set of 323x30's. Actually can't believe how much meat was on them considering they have been on the car over 3 years, done a few laps of the Ring and a couple of track days in addition to about 25k miles - i'm obviously really kind to the brakes or not pushing it enough

Cars now back on the floor on its new FK452 boots, now just need to get the radiator back in, sort the breather pipework and then get it off for an MOT. Then, hopefully after Chef has been up on the 11th to help change the water pump, roller and cambelt then it should be just about there!!

Then it will be ready for the paintshop...

Good work David. There should be a drain hole in the rear bottom of the sill - mine had water in too when i stripped it down, i guessed mine had got water in since the arch liner was rotten and holed but yours looks in good nick - maybe water drains down from the ally roof channel that the roof rack slots into?

Interesting to see the mysterious rear quarter panel bracing in this pic:

Can't understand which cars got this any why - my guess is its side impact protection as part of the Procon 10 safety system? My early coupe doesn't have procon 10, side impact bars or this rear quarter panel brace so i've never see it on a car in the flesh. I thought only ABYs had it but this proves otherwise
