Not that much progrees at the moment. I'm sorting out a couple of small things like new door seals before the 30-130mph day at RAF Marham.

I actually rung and emailed Pro Alloy about coming up with some new intercoolers.

They were helpful enough the first time on the phone and I emailed some pictures.

I left it a few dayus and then phoned up to chase up. That was two weeks ago and I have not heard anything.

Dissapointing really as I was poetntially prepared to spend some presumably quite serious money on some custom coolers.

Wastegate wise, How do I check i don't have creep or some other problem?

I can take the wastegate off, but what scares me is taking it apart or adjusting it as it has been mapped and the spring pre load was adjsuted down for boost control.

Intersetingly they used the origional spring and not the 1.9 Bar one I thought they would use.

Pete Berry fitted new diapragms etc when the engine was built.

Maybe I should order an aftermarket or another wastegate, but surely this means having it mapped yet again!?

looks good Agnus. Hope the filter is good enough flowing

Havent done a grill test because I didnt have one and worried about sucking something in.

Have changed the air filter though, to Apexi part no 500-022, also put some more heatshielding on whilst there.

Have not driven it yet, biut surely it's got to be better, if not least for the filtration aspects too.

do the easy part first and check the filter. Simply remove it (beware that nothing goes in)

Have a chat to one of the plant guys. Tell them your looking for a vacuum indicator that pops up to show blocked air filters. Or just fit a vacum gauge to the compressor inlet.

Delta p or pressure differential really needs a special dual port gauge. It measures pressure difference across a system eg intercooler on one gauge, so you don't need to look at them both. Will see what I can dig out..

Many gensets and tractors have them. Also measure delta p accross the intercoolers. Also check cam timing.

That new turbo should be at 2 bar boost before 3.5k rpm...

Yes, I'm a bit irked at the moment as to what the problem is. on the road it does feel like an improvement though.

Its MRC mapped, not sure what the chances of a boost profile map is...

What do you mean pressure indicators? Map sensors attached to a data logger??

and what do you mean by delta p? pressure drop or efficiency?

Whats the best way to check cam timing?

    As for pressure drop;

I had two boost gauges rigged up at the weekend, but found them hard to watch. Boost guagge is mounted too low, you certainly neeed to look where you are going!!

There wasnt a big gap but I need to test for longer.

And then it snowed 6" so that put an end to that....

When I look at my setup the pipework between the two intercooolers could be maybe improved, but it looks better in other areas than a couple of other twin intercooler setups, with less bends in some places.

Another thing I'v done is order an Apexi air filter and various pipework to try and alternative air filter setup.

I really don't have much time outside work at the moment, I would almost happily pay someone to sort this out right now by testing things properly! Is there anyone that can do this for me?

N75 duty cycle map would be nice to see as well... probably won't happen though.

It would be interesting to see results of the pressure drop, if there is any, with the dual IC's. Somehow I doupt it causes any notable restrinction at this power level..? On the other hand, Angus should try to dyno the car without the air filter. If it's specsed for 200hp it seems like a potential restrictor. Somewhere I saw dyno results with and without filter, and there was quite a big difference in power output. Can't remember where I saw the coparision.

you can try out just a "metallic frame" to see if the filter element is the restriction but not on the turbo as here. On the position where your filter is before MAF.

Prj is right about the scientific approach but the filter is easy to check.
