Nice shiny head, now blasted, ported and skimmed, with valve seats given a multi angle cut too, cap caps polished also; thanks to JP aka JNL Racing He also ported and matched my wagner inlet manifold.

Can't wait to get to get this back on the car on and see what difference it makes

to get the best out of the engine a remap is highly recommended after the headwork I'd say.

So, head is off and away for porting and reworking of the valve seats etc

Wagner manifold will be port matched too.

I am also going to look at having one of the intercooler end tanks re welded for a lesser angle to improve the inlet tract a little.

Once the head is fitted back on, should I go for a remap?

I was thinking about either buying an Innovate LM2 and checking AFR's or going to a local rolling road and getting them to do it. Presumably as long as AFR's look to be in order it should be ok and avoid yet another remap?

    Just stick with stock cams.
I've tried so many things, and always come back to the stock setup in the end for drivability.
    At least under 500hp.

Yes, you might win some up top, but in reality, it's always a tradeoff.

I'm pretty sure that the summary was 7A exhaust cam introduced more lag with higher top end (which you would expect with more overlap) and the standard aan ex cam was obviously the opposite.
I am amazed that just a few degrees and more lift has so much differnce, According to my data the cam opens at the same point but closes just 6 degrees later with I think it was 1mm more lift. Perhaps an adjustable gear on the exhaust cam could be designed to 'fine tune' for the best compromise

I want the best torque but also top end.

I have been told that ADU cams are the best for torque, but that this would mean swapping water pump and belts etc? Also, I would have to find some and they are no doubt rather expensive to source....

I didnt go for a 7A exhaust cam, should I try this? What is the benefit of using one?? Higher lift?

I presume this is only for top end gains?

    Head porting here i come....

Looked at buying stuff to log pressures etc at large expense but have decided to get head work done first.

Then I can look at methanol or different coolers if still not satisfied.

Not a good website to get good information, as obviously they are trying to sell a product there.
They say that drawing heat out of the cooler with air is more efficient than using air...

This would be correct, assuming the water would be magically cold all the time.
    However, you have to:
    1. Draw the heat out with water.
    2. Then use AIR to cool the water.

Simple physics - it is lots more efficient to just use air to cool the cooler DIRECTLY.
That's where the entire thing falls completely flat on it's face.
If your engine is at the front, unless you are doing drag racing, forget it.
