    why dont you use the GT3071R that you have for sale, to send to a turbo company and they could adapt the rear section of the 3071R and CHRA to the new compressor wheel of the GTX. That way you could have a hybrid. One that the larger turbine wheel of the 3071 would allow a bit more power as the EGTs going high wouldnt be that big issue and on the other hand the new GTX wheel would give the benefits of the billet design.

    That way, at no extra cost you would have a possibly better outcome at only cost the fitment and balancing which shouldnt be more than 100GBP!

    Right. Now that I've finished sulking about it I managed to offer up the new turbo for a test fit, and the good news is it fits quite well, no mods needed to downpipe or intake/boost hoses that I can see.

    I reckon I could have had it fitted by the end of the weekend!! Remap was booked for the 21st, will have to cancel that next week.

    The lesson here if there is one to be carefull how and when you work. I was tired and a bit frustrated from work, tools were strewn everywhere already and I was working late, so I rushed/didnt concentrate and that's how the drop accident happened!

    I also got the b*stard sump plug out, here's the offending item that pissed me off in the first place before I dropped the turbo;

    Old setup:

    New setup test fit:

    Old Turbo left just after I took it out and new on right;

    That's going to be a pretty expensive drop then...

    Yep try atp first and talk to td. I wouldn't risk running that turbine even it was straightened. If atp can supply a core for 400 then ask for your bits back. As I say I'm interested in the bits.

    Look, there is the garrett repair program. You can get a brand new CHRA for 400 bucks if you bought it from ATP.
    Just go for it.

    It can be possible to remediate the blades, but it should be done by a turbo expert and needs re-balancing of the shaft.

    Gutted for you!! I was expecting to see an update saying "its fitted and ready for mapping!" Hope you can get it sorted - perhaps a bit of a sob story to ATP and they'll sort it out cheap for you?

    Oh dear. You can't get a turbine wheel and shaft seperate as you found out. Any gt 28 r could be used as a donor using your compressor side. Or you could put your compressor side on your gt30 turbine side. Turbo dynamics again could help. It's an expensive drop. Basicly you need a new chra, minus the compressor wheel and housings. Could be as cheep to get another turbo minus the turbine housing. I would be interested in that compressor and housing if you do need a second turbo. Could help to pay for the drop. Talk to atp and td...

    The center section is not 900$
    Talk to ATP, they have a special program, and you might be covered for a 400$ core change.

    Buying the turbine wheel separately, replacing it, balancing and checking the entire CHRA will cost more than that.

    $909 for a new Centre section! The turbine wheel seems to be the same as nearly all other GT28 series as below;

    53.9mm and 76 Trim

    If I can get a turbine seperately then have it istalled and balanced there is some hope.

    Anyone got any ideas who might be able to do this?

    Turbine wheel is scrap, also the hit could have damaged the CHRA...
    Yeah, pretty much send it back where it came from, and you might get away with 300-400$ for a new CHRA through the Garrett program.
