Awesome Eric! Those seals were a bargain
I thought about replacing mine but I have to draw a line somewhere
The paint on the slam panels looks excellent, are you still using rattle cans or did you buy a decent gun?
Looking forward to seeing the full repaint, its an amazing colour!

Friday 13th. Full moon tonight. Great day to send car off for paint.
Lower trims.
I was able to get 4 lower door trims but finding the rear and front wing trims proved impossible.
I had to make some.
Luckly I had some old coupe ones , they are totally the wrong shape but I could cut it down for the rear.
And I could use the good parts of the avant bad ones to make the front wing trims.
They will do until I get some lower trims from aron.
Front bumper washers.
The front washers had to come off the bumper. Unfortunately they were siezed. So I ground the nuts and replaced the studs
This is what the stud inside the washer looks like. Designed to spin I'd say.
I used these allen bolts and ground down the head so it fits into the void left by the old stud.
A pic before I wrapped the washer to close the gaps.
Car full of trims, bumpers sunroof mirror.
And off it goes to paint.Last edited by irishs2; 7 July 2017, 15:46.

Thanks,
I was supposed to get some progress pics of paint process, but wont have them until sometime during the week meanwhile things are a happening.
Headliner time: Been dreading this, but the platinum has to go.
Oh no. What have I done.
The headliner looked ok, but it was too easy to separate the material from the foam. It was going to drop.
Horrible horrible stuff
Cleaning, scraping for 3 evenings. Not sure why I don't have a pic of the bare board.
Material I am going to use. Just ebay headliner in black.
I folded it on half and worked on the back end first.I took it slow in 4 to 6 inch steps. Waiting 5 mins after spraying the adhesive. I used 3M 90 Contact Adhesive.
Concentrating only on the centre area.
Then the front half.
It took hours to finish but I am happy.
I ran out of adhesive, so I will have to wait until more arrives before tackling the sunroof hole.Last edited by irishs2; 7 July 2017, 15:46.

Best to order it in a roll, I didn't, it saved me on shipping but I had to iron it before use.

Headlining looks really good, I had a go at doing my sunroof section a while back but struggled to get it right as the fabric went too taught when it was on tilt so watch out for this when you fit the lining on your sunroof. Will be interested to see what a good solution is though.
Been reading back over the last few pages and blast cabinet and powder coater is looking like an excellent purchaseGreg
