  • I reconditioned the Powersteering pump. As seen elsewhere, the A6 pump is 120bar and the S2 pump is 100bar. By using the front of the A6 and the rear of the S2 pump I get a 100bar single pump that fits in the stock location.

I had to replace my cam pully, as it had cracked its keyway.

I also decided to torque up the crankbolt.
200nm +180deg. I got to 90deg before my 3/4" drive bent. (not shown)

Fitted a newly acquired RS2 downpipe thanks Alex, and and the stock turbo. Along with some new heatshielding. (non OEM)

Torqued down the head, took the pic in Stage II.
    Stage I 40nm 1-12, Stage II 60nm, Stage III +180deg

      • I really should do a list alright as I am a bit all over the place, but this weekend I was hoping to get the down pipe on , easier than I thought with the driveshaft heat shield off ( had visions of dropping the subframe again)
I spent most of today faffing about trying to build a bracket and ducting for the mocal oil cooler. That ended in failure

              • Very nice.

It must take ages to make a bracket to your standards!

                  • Movement has been slow these last few months, work has been busy and other projects have come and gone, and just got planning permission for my house so its all go go go. One of those projects was my brothers Ural 750. (A russian copy of a old BMW side car)

Decided to tackle the interior again and put the seats out of harms way.

                    Before

After cleaning with glipton leater cleaner and conditioner.

Base frame before cleaning and servicing.

I wanted to swap the *** cushions, not because the drivers one is bad but just to even the wear.
The seat base has to be removed to swap the cushion.

The seat base cushion then is easy to remove

Bit by bit its looking like its coming together. Its proper airbag steering wheel will be refitted near the end of the project.

Sorry for the poor pic quality. Will get some better shots of interior in time.

Got some assorted oetiker single ear clips in, but was missing 30mm (28-31.6mm)
Have some on the way so I can finish some hard to reach hoses before access is cut off by other bits.

A cheap tool to crimp the o-clips.

                        Thanks

                        I got this one

I didnt see a bearing in that pump. It just runs on oil on the casing itself.

                          • No bearing. There are steel sleeves pressed into the alloy casing.

                              • Nope, its for the single stage PAS pump. You need one for the tandem pump.
