Been a very long week with the boys at Quattro Coachworks putting in some major hours putting the car back together. Not quite finished but 98% there. Been taking lots of pictures throughout the build up so will be posting these in the near future.
I got some pics to upload of the airfilter mods, intercooler and interior going back in so will upload these on sun as a little taster.
All being well the car will be finished on monday sometime so if the weather is good I'll take some pictures of the finished car in daylight to post up on xmas dayUrS6 Stroker + HTA3586 =

that christmas present is for JP who gets his car done.
for as is another costly browse through photos of what we havent done, and would like to do... So less christmas presents for the family, more £££ on the car!

As promised couple of pics in no particular order just little detail things in progress nearing the cars completion
Finally got round to finishing the air filter assembly with a 12an breather fitting and a 50mm recirc pipe welded to it. The pipe has been carefully kicked over to assist in keeping the blades of the turbo spinning on gear change.

And a pretty pic of it fitted to the turbo without the filter element on it

Finally got round to finishing of the trumpet stack for the intake manifold the other week using components supplied by jeffer on the forum.

After having the intercooler tie strapped for it's initial years i finally got round to welding pipes onto the end tanks with brackets clamping it to the aircon radiator mounts.

Interior cleaned and soundproofed ready for it to go back together.

Back seats and doorcards in the car, really struggled to take a picture as it was so dark even an inspection light or the flash on the phone struggled as there was nothing to reflect of.

Smoothed all the writing of the tail lights and polished them to a luster.

Rotiform 9.5x18's to try and maintain a fresh oem look

Masked up ready for the boys at Quattro Coachworks to work their magic on.

That's it for the moment. Doesn't look like we will have final proper pics done for Christmas day as we're running out of good weather and time. However as the front is build up and lined up all the lights working plates on interior in glass done and only minor things like giving the car a polish and clean fit the roof spoiler and rails etc. There will be one or two phone pics that will be put up of the car on just this forum. Facebook and the rest of the world can wait until we got sunlight and put it outside after it is 100% done.UrS6 Stroker + HTA3586 =

Good progress, not long to go now by the looks of it.
Why would you want to vent the breather back into the system ?
Also recently seen some strange things going on with those HKS filters ( if thats what you have ) and when I mentioned it to a guy that tunes R35 GTR's he mentioned they have seen losses of over 100hp @ wheels using them so do not recommend them, food for thought.
Looking forward to seeing the finished result though, its going to be a superb road car.Comment

Cheers for comments guys
@ Jonny, I've also seen upto 300whp losses on the hks filters. The problem is people are buying copies without realising. The copies have issues collapsing where they are clamped onto intake hoses, also the trumpet radius is not nice causing unnecessary turbulance. Likewise I keep seeing really dirty filters in them they need keeping clean at all costs or you instantly choke the turbo.
We've tried dyno runs with and without them with maybe 10hp differences at 700+ figures with clean filter setups so not overly worried.
As for breather back into the intake it first runs through an oil seperator that drains to sump then through a catch tank that filters out moisture. Not 100% foolproof but the gains made by applying a vacuum to the crankcase by utilising the suction of the turbo outweighs the losses from the air quality loss once filtered. If you just vent to atmosphere the breather vents need to be so large to maintain atmospheric crankcase pressure on a stroker that you end up stinking the car out with oil fumes even on the shortest car journey.UrS6 Stroker + HTA3586 =

I certainly couldn't comment on if they were using genuine ones or not, I would assume the tuner would of known but it was a interesting point he made about them.
Breather setup is fair enough, I wouldn't want the smell on a road car and the theory behind yours certainly sounds like a good one.Comment

and no that's still real grass after all these years
