@mac2226 only about 1.5kg lighter not a lot in it due to the volume of carbon they use and the much stronger and heavier cv's. However you distinctly notice the difference in acceleration and just generally more drivetrain response when coming out of corners or going through the gearsUrS6 Stroker + HTA3586 =

And several months later again. Time does fly when you are having fun.....
Fitted one of my new design baffled sumps to the car which take into account oil surge, breathing and have the flaps angled so they work correctly when sump is set into it's correct position in the car. Ready to work in unison with an accusump kit that's going to be fitted.

Also fitted a new gearbox made out of an amalgamation of 3 different 01E gearbox ratios just before xmas with 1-6 carbon synchros and 1-2 updated shift collar and a wavetrac diff.
Shafts assembled
Cruising 6th gear

longer 5th and 6th in place

my new rpm drops using available oem parts from UK Europe and US

The good news is that the car drove beautifully like a go kart for around 3 days before the twinplate tilton gave up the ghost not being able to cope with the 3 torson diffs and 2 ton worth of car.
Soon I'll be pulling the box so once underneath the car I'll get a pictoral update of front and rear anti roll bar setups.UrS6 Stroker + HTA3586 =

Nice work
My sump is almost identical to that and I still get surge in 1st, 2nd and a little in 3rd so fitting your accusump is a good idea. I'm increasing my oil capacity to around 8l to hopefully overcome the surge.
Also what's the pipe in the sump doing? The ONLY S2 Golf!

A1qship. Yes 1st 2nd uk with wider 1st gear. 3rd 4th and 5th from us 5 speed. 6th gear is from european fwd diesel.
As for the pipe running to the front.....
Original breather is at the back of the block. As you accelerate all the oil goes to the back and blocks the breather resulting in it getting pushed out by crankcase pressure. So this now gets routed to an oil seperator that vents back into the turbo which normally sucks on the output of the seperator to balance out the pressure in the crankcase.
So under hard acceleration it unfortunately also ends up sucking the oil out the sump.
By routing the return drain pipe to above the oil level infront of the foremost baffle it doubles up as a breather pipe. So when the rear breather hole gets blocked by oil it breathes through the return pipe from the front of the engine where there is little oil. Then when driving normal or braking it breathes through the rear crank breather and drains any oil back to the front of the sump.
Hopefully that makes sense as writing from a mobile.UrS6 Stroker + HTA3586 =
