Oh, and I popped an A4 central locking pump in yesterday as well so it now works which is good on a big car like an 80 Avant.

those are the same as the ones you already have on this avant...

It had a factory towbar which replaced the original bumper hangers I didn't want a towbar as it was really big, heavy, rusty and looked horrible.

It was very similar to that, if not the same. Horrible! It took ages to persuade it to come off as well.
