I'm using XP20(http://www.ctbrakes.com/brake-compounds.asp#2) on my CQ for trackday use. Works Perfect, but can be a bit hard on discs if they are on the small side. With 330mm Cayenne discs I get heat cracks when really trashed for a weekend

MRC use the 3000 on the road, they work well with the 8 pots, Chef ask Doug about that setup.Leave a comment:

Nice, car looks amazing!
DS2500 are for trackday and light race use.
DS3000 are race pads.
Some helpful pad info on ferrodo's website;

DS2500 are more of a trackday pad and to work properly, they need to transfer a layer of pad material to the disc, so will work better after a few heat cycles. Pad material is an important choice and depends on what you are going to use the car for. Best off to speak to a few pad manufacturers and motorsport places to see what they recommend for your application(s).
From my experience with the DS2500, they need heat to work at their best and the first proper run tends not to give too good performance, most likely as the brakes are cleaned and the pads deposit a decent layer of friction material to the disc surface. Of course, this is on a car used on a daily basis, not a race car.Leave a comment:

I wouldn't say they are rubbish but for this application I would have thought the DS3000 be a better choice and the DS2500 have a tendacy to eat discs.
Also ditch the OEM discs for Girodiscs!Leave a comment:

James,in the evo world, most hot heads says ds2500 is rubbish...
Much better XP8/10 brake pads or some pagid RS...
If you want I can ask for very good track day pads for your brembos

Mine is on DS2500 pads and they are very good pads. I am running 0.625 for the front and 0.7 for the rear. They do need a good bit of pedal pressure but will lock up. Perhaps you need to lengthen the brake pedal to get a bit more leverage?Leave a comment:

Awesome work Chef, still that facebook pic is the scary thing I've ever seen of the car!

Its on those Ds2500 pads which by all reports are very good.
Its just a case of changing cylinder size, 10 minute job.
Brakes are very important and this is a area i dont want to skimp on so the 8 pot's are going!
Oppps sorry Chris
I cant remember off the top of my head but questmed even agreed with me that i should be on the money with what i have on there. But i was standing on the brakes with the adjustable bias and i could not get a lock up. Just a pedal box mate no servo.
Thats the plan but as always i am very short on my own time
