Test mounted the bumper mounts. I had to cut them down on either side and cut off the splines on the front which left grooves in between. So I filled the grooves with jb weld then sanded them flat and drilled the stock hole pattern in. Also drilled in the the shock and squeezed all the air/liquid out so now I can adjust them to the exact length needed and secure them at that spot. Still need some tweaking but should work out pretty nicely...
Also just propped up the bumper trim to see how it would fit, just barely cleared but should fit perfectly...
so now you will converte audi 200 to audi v8 avant..
a liitle bit predictiable !
there could be better version if you use everything from audi v8 , but front lights and grill from 200 20v.

I don't understand how this is predictable, I have seen this conversion done on only a few sedans and no avants!
I have thought about keeping 200 headlights, grill, and hood but it will take some more work as the 200 headlights dont match up in the V8 fenders as the V8 headlights are a different shape. I am saving the 200 headlights, grill, and hood and may add them back on later after I do some more work with the bumper fitting. I will use all the V8 pieces for now and see how I like them, I am on a time crunch because I am moving very soon but I will take all the pieces with me.
Got some audio freebies today. My girlfriend got a cd player, Sony Xplod, a few years back as a gift and never installed it and found it in her closet still in the box and donated it to the 200 cause. Beats the void I have in the dash where a radio should be. Also had a gift certificate from Christmas to Best Buy (typically the last place I would shop for my stuff) so I picked up some new rear door speakers, Polk DXI 525, cause the stock ones sounded like crap and are most likely blown. Not bad for $Free.99...
Motor is back together ready to swallow $80 worth of fluids...
Shaved the headlight wipers for now, have everything to add them which may happen later if i decide to keep the V8 headlights...
Also got the base and mid coat Pearl paint, still need a good clear coat...I have absolutely no experience with painting and i have heard this color is notoriously hard to get to look right so if any one has some tips for me please fill me in
Welp the Audi gods must not be happy with me I guess they felt I was making too much progress. The car is pissing out oil and pentosin. Got the oil leak figured out to be a stripped bolt hole in the oil filter housing that holds the turbo feed line to it. I noticed when reassembling that I couldn't quite torque the bolts down to 16 lbs/ft and thought ehh it will be okay. Nope. So took off a whole bunch of stuff to get at it and took it to a machine shop for repair. The pentosin leak is still a mystery I have to solve. Sigh not the kinds of things you want to deal with when your supposed to be driving the car 3000 miles next week. Though I suppose dealing with them now is much better than realizing them on the road.
