being as I am unable to do anything more progressive now with the car until the engine swap is complete, I have been playing with alloy wheel visuals.

Obviously speedlines were commonplace for this model of car, but I will need brake clearance for upgrades down the line, so am looking at 16s or maybe 17s at a push (still undecided) - but I think that wheels and the exhaust will be the only indicators to any kind of modding visually on the car to joe bloggs.

so, inkeeping with the speedline theme and also some other plays, these seem to be front runners:

      As it is now:

SŁonik: do you have any friends with the 16" competition wheels on a B3? that would be the best option IMO.

How about 16" S2 Avus's, although they'd need a 5 stud conversion doing, or perhaps some Porsche wheels of the same era in keeping with the VW folk? The spacers would give plenty of clearence for brakes then.

ideally I would like to keep the 4 stud pattern, so I am also look at ford wheels, because if it was a case of 5 stud conversion + wheels, I would be going for some RS4 type wheels.

I have seen some Cades Eros in the flesh and also some RS5 Lenso's and they actually dont look as bright or bling as the photoshop does - you have to remember the source images are bright light, studio shots and not to scale, fitted to the car with the same ambient light - that has a big influence on how they appear in the pics.

Good idea on the porker wheels, didnt even think of that! didnt the 924 actually use audi hubs?

you can get 4x108 to 5x130 adapters quite easily.
You can also get 4x108 17 inch rs4 alloys
Or just get a set of oz superturismo's for a ford in 16's

i d fit a set of matt black steel wheels, should be able to get them banded.
Not sure what a 16" would come off in 4 stud though, a Ford or a Peugeot I d imagine would be a good start, Mondeo perhaps?

ford wheels fit straight on, pug wheels have different offset so from what I remember sit out more (been a while since I messed with 4 studs)

you're kinda loosing the sleeper element with those blinged up aftermarket wheels. IMHO you need something OEM looking, or at least a fairly classic design like a dished 5 or DTM style.
