Have to say chaps, Pete Berry is putting most of the hours in on this at the mo and doing the heavy work, I’m sourcing parts and delivering and doing the kitchen table repairs and stuff.
Pete is the Man
Alex the headliner is the original one from my car, very unusual and I’ve always really liked it.

Progressing really well. Satisfying making progress on the little fiddly jobs back home too. I can still remember going out for a short run in this probably 12 years ago now, I bet you cant wait to get back behind the wheelGreg

Talking of fiddly jobs I’ve just built an electric aerial out of 2 broken ones, tested and it motors up and down

Not so sure about the aerial, I thought I’d check it with the mast removed so you can see the motor spinning .
I think it should time out after about 3 seconds on both power up and power down. In power up it keeps running. I think this is a failure mode that causes the motor to overheat and melt the casing.

It’s ok, tested it again this morning, it times out after about 4 seconds running, takes about 3 to extend or retract.
Very cool and retro

Have you done any maintenance/check to the steering rack ?
I wish I did check mine better when it was removed.my mate did wheel alignment on mine S2 and he said there is very small play in the rack but it's still bugs me .I'm sure you would check it anyway but just in case I tough I would mention that as access to them is so bad once everything fitted in place .
