Why, yes there is as it happens!

had a job cancel this afternoon so turned up at 4pm 7.8.12
first time ive worked on the car in my new work space (see here............ http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showthr...ght=work+space )
this is how i left the car today at 6.10pm

you can see how much room i can move the drive train back, good 4 inches.
i will have to go RWD but i think the benefits outweigh the lack of quattro, unless anyone can suggest front shaft answers?





this is how "just in" the motor is,











not bad for 2 hrs work, couldnt get it all done as i dont have a jack, didnt even think about that lol so shell is just rested on now.

all the 60mm GReddy gauges stripped out ready for sale
only the strut tops keeping it together and propshaft
wiring harness all stripped out,

well, you get the idea.

will have the car 100% bare by the weekend and up on pallets to seam weld the shell end of the month when i get some money for Argon.

Lol, it's clear to see why they ended up with a V6 after all!
You don't need a welder mate, just stick the back end of the torch in one of those dangerous boxes from that narrow room...

incidentaly, i blocked the room off today with a chest of drawers and a coffee table im currently storing, this room seriousley terrifys me, and i will be screwing the door shut when i move all the stuff out that was in my house

oh and V6 engines were the best thing to happen to B5`s, even 4 pots are a squeeze!

how a V6 TT engine sits in relation to the chassis rails

should be fine providing you don't have a front end

and does your hair stand on end if you walk past that room? or does it make any noises if it rains

it stated raining just before i was leaving as it happens, the radio reception went a bit funny when i turned the lights on, but theres like 24 tubes in that 1 room where the A4 is!!

which is odd considering how big the mast is right above my "shed"

ive hatched a plan,

gonna use pallets as axle stands to get the car head height, oh and 2x over head cranes ofcourse too lol

will carry on getting it all out tomorow and on fleabay

Right well the engine, gearbox, front axle/suspension and rear diff is all out, i have pics but lost the SD card thingie that plugs into my laptop, not happy

i was also not happy when getting the front suspension dragged out as it pulled the washer pump out of the bottle and dumped ALL the fluid on the floor...................
i was so pissed off i punched **** out of the n/s wing.......... i need to get my temper sorted, oh and a new wing now, still fuming.............. what a ****

erm, bit of an update if your interested,

car is 100% bare shell with suspension, wiring, fuel tank, and upper door glass frame / supports all removed

will be ordering a Custom Cages climbing frame end of next month, debaiting losing the sun roof, id be stupid not to i guess but my car was one of a handfull to have that option ticked, what to do...........
we all know what its like to tilt the roof up and suck the heat out!
im sure a carbon fiber replacement for the glass item would save massive weight

any other questions or thaughts?

couple of "updates"

bought a new SD card thingie so can upload pics now

met Tonks4x4 (Top bloke i might add!) and now have a dummy block to fab up the mounts etc!

stripped the 80 Quattro for its gearbox and linkages

will be moving cars around tomorrow so i can actually get in and out of the A4 easily!

head is with JP, just need to drum up cash so he can sprinkle the fairydust, so the witchcratft happens and sexy noises occur

not much else to say really, lots of pics to come tomorow and hopefully a pic of the block in situ moved right back!

Bought a new seats, collecting tomorow!


collecting a tripple plate (Alcon or tilton, cant remember which!) clutch and lightweight flywheel for my 5 speed running gear at the end of the month

Wiring, 2 steps forward and ive chopped through a chunk of wiring i actually need.......$£^*!!!!! lol need new loom behind dash now, but for a non a/c car me thinks from an early 1996-1998 car maby

few crap pics, various crap littered round my garage
oh and ive bought ANOTHER memory card wotsit

And i can now move the car about, 2 pallets and a set of wheels off one of my rollcab toolboxes, easy lol

anyway, piles of AAN and B5 bits to look at
