18 December 2012 - Fuel Pump

Slowly getting there.....forgot about this......before I took the beast to get its 3" SS exhaust, we fitted a Bosch 044 fuel pump at Keith's in readiness for bigger things

No pictures of the pump but thanks to Jamo for getting it to me on time

Question - is that Bosch 044 pump still generally available ?
I had one years ago in a lovely fresh basket for fitting to the S2 but sold it to recoup funds in the dark times !!!

Jamo sold me the whole kit with pump in shiny new basket.....an easy fit

Pipewerx have a really good rep, but I've never seen any of their work up close. Do you have any more pics of the system John?
Dunno about anyone else but I am impatient to find out what figures this beastie is making after all your hard work

Hahaaa.....almost there! There was one last thing I did before I took her to the dyno to get the "before" mapping and injectors position.......I replaced the rear drive shaft CVs as they looked totally sha**ed.

Undo the outer bolt (whilst car still on the ground!) and the 6 inner bolts

These are the parts that you need from GSF car parts (for the coupe)

This is what you get in the outer kit

and this is what you get in the inner kit - the eagle eyed of you will note that one of the 3 new bolt tie pieces is wrong - I had to use an old one but hey

Once I had taken the shafts to bits, I cleaned them up, sanded them and gave them a coat of spray-on hammerite smooth, taping up the splined areas.

19 Feb 2013 - Rolling Road

So before I put on the final elements of the performance package, I thought it would be a good idea to show the the old girl could do.

Bear in mind this was a standard re-chip that was nominally an extra 45bhp, which was on the car when I bought it but I did have the following kit:-

• RS2 airbox
• RS2 MAF
• Wagner Evo intercooler
• RS2 IM
• K24 hybrid turbo
• Wagner Evo EM
• Bosch 044 fuel pump
• Full 3" SS system

The car was not mapped to take advantage of the kit but here goes: -
