tommy, do you have your hands on a good 2 chamber intake manifold?
Project Progress, inletmanifold, paint etc.

Please let me explain, this manifold is just a test to see what happens against the original one. Furtheron its also reversed like the MTM intakes etc, those are also one chamber manifolds.Originally posted by Tommy200rsNote that the propper internals/entry in the collection chamber is a must for filling in the air evenly into whole inletmanifold chamber.
Then when the filling flow is even to the collection chamber 1 you can deliver it into chamber 2 from where it goes to each runner tube. Otherwise the some cylinders may get more air than others and then lean and some richer.
One chamber design is not good. See all the IMSA pictures you can find for more hints. This is not easy. If your power level is ~360-380-400hp then stock inletmanifold is ~ok. If you are going to have a tubular exhaust manif, you can measure the exhaust temperatures in each ex runner and see if one cylinder is running lean. Alu flywheel may be too light for a street driven car. Im having only 50% reduced ABY flywheel (one piece version) from CNC shop next week..
It`s not just a straight box welded together but it also reduces towards the 5th intakeport. Furtheron are all the runners equal + they are all really smooth.
The only test so far was with smoke and high pressure air. And it looked good on first sight. Smoke came out off every runner quite equally. But i know thats only optic and not a good measurement but hey i`m not finished yet.
Furtheron you see a picture of our exhaust manifold wich will get temp. probes on every exhaust port to log the exhaust temp on every cilinder.
Its one big experiment together with Jeffer and Minhea to see what we can get out of selfmade parts.
And about the flywheel its also a test, but as it looks now it will be a bit different then just a street driven car
Been busy today so some more pictures.

Thanks Marks, (i hope i finish my project somewhere march or so, so next summer i can also come to England for GTI and stuff
)
Well i`ll take some pictures of my playground and all the machinery.
For now a very good new year to everybody and till next year.

Looks awesome
Excellent welding by Cees,
aswell as my photography skills
Now get that car together and do some racing
Greetzz and happy new-year

The Inletmanifold proto will be made from 7A inletmanifold pipes and the collection chamber above exhaust manifold and entry like in 3B but turned 180 degrees !!!
Target is to have as long runners as in Talladega engine and enormous low end torgue and about max 350hp only.
Send me your private email and I´´ll try to send you a picture of the critical internals. Hope this helps.Last edited by Tommy200rs; 3 January 2005, 08:54.Comment

Pic of the internals of 10v intake I made 2 years ago
and an S3 intake made a few weeks ago
Hope You get the idea.
Before anyone asks, yes, I make them, Yes, for sale. Price from some 600 eur / piece.Last edited by repo; 4 January 2005, 13:48.Everything less than 2 bar is considered to be naturally aspiratedComment
