Evening chaps, really dont get much time to get on the computor these days so apologies for being a stranger.
As many of you know, I started off last year with my first Audi, was a 1990 2.3 NG coupe. I bought this car for £200 and spent way too much money and time getting it to where it is now, considering the paintwork lets it down its not worth much, taking into the consideration the miles aswell ! .. I then went on a whim to Gatwick and picked up the Stormtrooper ( as someone aptly named it ) a White 93 2.6 auto Coupe with low mileage and a silly body kit (not that the RS2 bumper was silly) .. I payed peanuts as the guy didnt seem to be interested, this was going to be ANOTHER project, however when i stuck it in for MOT to see where i should begin, it failed ... but only on wiper blades ... The black coupe was putt off the road and the white one was then my daily ! well ... around the end of Sep i was driving home and a female BMW driver decided to reverse into me on a public highway ! .. LUCKILY the end result was not bad, as i got a decent payout for the damage, i kept the car and it WAS NOT catogorised ! Anyyyyywayyyy ! To the horror of many of you, i have been delving into the relms of sideways-ness and decided I may steer away from Audi for a year to have a bit of fun in something RWD. I signed up to the main driftworks forum and had a scour through ! .. and then i found a guy with a 2.8 quattro coupe that he had coverted to RWD .. i read through the thread and thought to myself ... that doesnt look to bad ! So my search began for something quattro, that was cheap and needed work. Wasnt fussed about tax or test, just wanted quattro ! ... Well ... to cut a long story short (and i know ive gone on a bit) i took a trip to Dulwich, London and bought this .....

The damage:

She's a 1993 L' 80 2.6 Quattro 5-speed manual .. she has full service history, Tax and MOT untill next april
and has done 148k, has the black quattro script interior in really good condition, 3 spoke leather steering wheel, sunroof etc etc .. You may not notice from the pics, but she has been lowered by the previous owner, i dont know how much by though, sits really nicely
when i went to look at the car, the centre section of the exhaust had come away from one of the joins, so could really drive it too far as it was like having no exhaust
Initially got her back, and fixed the exhaust (which is still blowing a bit) and took her for a run ! pulls really really well, handles great, rides terriffic HOWEVER ! i had plooms and plooms of blue smoke out of the back
initially i panicked and thought id bought a pup, but after doing some research ... I decided to do an oil change as there were 2 cans of 5w 30 oil in the boot (which a few of us agreed) was too thin.
Dropped the oil out and it was no thicker than black water, replaced the filter and filled her up with 10w 60 Mobil extra long life .. and she is cured ! i cannot stress how much i love this car, it drives like an absolute gem ... and my PLAN (not a definate) is to lock the centre diff, remove the front shafts, and have a bit of fun on the cheap .. which leads me to the bit that im sure all of you will enjoy
I only payed £150 for the car !!
the guy had no idea at all what he was doing, (badged as an RS2)
which by the way .. I think the front grille badge may be genuine (dont quote me) but it does have an Audi stamp and part number on the back. Which i wont be needing
.. anyway ! thought id share and wait for the crys not to de-quattro it, but for the money i payed, and the money ill return, i wanted to do something different ! will keep you posted with the progress and probably a few questions !
many thanks guys
Sam
