When idling, it works occasionally, but once it's under load it doesn't work at all. Came out the corner, accelerated, worked for a bit and then felt it give up.
I know what u mean, but with upgradet coils life will be much easyer
I know, I would've done it in summer anyways, so it's just brought forwards a bit.
Also, TPS is bad. At WOT it should be 3600ohm across pin 2 and 3, but it goes upto 1900ohms and then nothing(infinity) so that would explain why it won't go past 4k on motorway. Luckily I have several TPS senors from my old V6, so no spendings there.

As above, I would be tempted to fit a known good coil in.
Car is at 180+k atm, so if one goes, there is a chance rest will too sooner or later. And I would've done it in summer anyways, so not that big of a deal. Still need to pay for the other coil.

Apart from the duff coil, what are you hoping these new TFSI coils will bring to the party?
It's about £300 for the harness and coils?
I don't know if I'm honest. Those who swapped from fully functional standard coils to these says car drives better, can't say as I haven't driven a car with these coils.
Well, I bought coils from Norbitron on here for 115EUR (145EUR with express delivery) and because money is tight at the moment, I got 5 second hand coils for £45 off ebay (new ones are £120), so I got through much cheaper than £300.
