  • Audi S2 Track Torpedo from PL

    I was rebuilding my car for last 5 years.

    The car is now finally alive





    MODEL: Audi S2

    Setup:

    Engine 430KM / 507 Nm:
    - rods stock
    - pistons stock (new rings)
    - stock crankshaft
    - RS2 rod bearings
    - dry slump system form Repo. Oil pump 5 sections.
    - Aeroquip oil lines
    - oil tank in the trunk
    - k26 turbo
    - stock wastegate + stiffer spring

    Head:
    - 7A head with re-bored water lines
    - new cam chain
    - pressure vent for dry sump
    - ARP bolts

    Block:
    - engine block form N/A 79,5 x 86,4 mm
    - rebored for stock pistons 81 mm

    Induction:
    - sport air filter
    - intake manifold form Repo
    - throttle re-bored to 70 mm
    - custom IC (600 x 300 x 100 mm core)
    - HKS SSQV BOV

    Exhaust:
    - 3 inch form turbo to the back of the car


    Fuel Injection System:
    - 5 x RC 750cc
    - Bosch 044 main fuel pump
    - Bosch 040 fuel pump in the tank
    - Aeroquip fuel lines
    - custom fuel rail from Repo
    - AEM fuel press regulator
    - 2.5 liter swirl pot

    Electronics:
    - AEM EMS 30-1900U + harness + boost solenoid + water temp. sensor
    - 2 x stock knock sensors
    - AIM XML Pista + GPS module
    - AIM sensors: oil temp, oil press, gearbox temp, diff temp.
    - Defi: EGT before turbo, fuel pres
    - EGT gauge + 5 x probes for every cylinder

    Cooling system:
    - standard engine cooling cooler
    - RS2 radiator
    - small front cooler removed
    - silicon hoses
    - cooler for gearbox oil
    - cooler for engine oil located under rear seats

    Drive system:
    - 01E 6 gears gearbox form Audi S4 B5
    - front axe Torsen differential
    - center stock torsen 2:1 differential
    - rear axe diff form S2 with Torsen
    - 18x9.5" ATS wheels + road rubber 255/40/18 + track slick tires 250/640 R18

    Suspension:
    - Ohlins 3-way shocks
    - Eibach springs front: 15 kg/mm, rear: 14 kg/mm
    - RS2 FARB + Whiteline rear
    - front camber plates
    - rear aluminium top mounts
    - rear incline with HR screws
    - acentric bushings for front and rear (wider axis)
    - gearbox moved to the back

    Brakes:
    - Alcon 370mm 6 pistons front
    - Brembo 330mm 4 pistons rear
    - braking force regulator front/rear form Tilton
    - Tilton 600 floor mounted pedals

    BODY KIT:
    - hood + rear hatch + doors + front fenders, rear wheel arches - Kevlar
    - polycarbonate windows (except front one)
    - driver and passenger sear moved to the rear with pedals, steering wheel (Sparco)
    - small sport mirrors on the sides

    Other:
    - dashboard form carbon
    - roll-cage
    - Sabelt fire-extinguishing system
    - two bucket seats (Sparco + OMP) + wide belts
    - some other goodies

    The car ready to race is 1220 kg.

    The setup is ready for 550-600KM. For now the car is to be a fun ride for track days and time attack events.

      Coupe looks awesome in the Audi sport colours. Spec looks serious

      Can you tell us more about the gearbox? You said moved to back?

        Good to see the same old guys here

        The gearbox was moved back as much as it was possible with stock left and right shafts. I had to shorten the main shaft a bit AFAIR. The mod was to get better balance of the car. We modified the arms holding the engine and gearbox a bit to.

                      when you said moved to back I thought maybe you had gone to RWD with a 944 or 968 transmission or something
