The nice thing with the mk1 is its a simple car and the parts are readily available.and cheap.Comment

Progress
Ok, got all the bits back from the powder coaters.
Rear beam rebuilt
Same treatment for the front wishbones
And steering rack
fuel tank back in
Suspension back on
Just got to bolt the rear hubs on and she can go back on her wheels and be mobile.
Got the final primer to do on outside, guide coat flat then its off to the paint shop to let somebody who knows what there doing carry on with it

First time out the garage for a very long time.

The plan now is to get the second primer done, hopefully this weekend and leave it to dry out until the spring time.
I'm going to concentrate on the engine/gearbox and sorting all the other bits over the winter.sigpic

Isn't it due to rain most of the weekend and is painting bad with moisture around? So does that not include primer too?Comment

Should be OK with the space heater on and being primer but I agree with you. I wouldn't risk spraying top coats with a load of moisture about.sigpic
