I hope so mate... note the rather lovely looking rear wishbones - that is a great advert for POR15 - I did those maybe 3 or more years ago (all by hand) and all they have is some dust and road grime on display - compared to the subframe which I didn't remove then for refurb.

Now an amazing transformation of an awful disgusting mouldy door card (sponsored by Auto Glym Interior Shampoo) to the much more respectable result. All it took was 15 mins and some elbow grease. Quite awesome actually... it inspired me to clean the seatsPaul Nugent

The photos of the seats before and after the same treatment don't really impress as much as they do in the real world - both seats were truly minging after so many years parked up in the rain with the infernal water leak from sunroof.
The drivers side bolster could use some new padding - other than that these seats must suit somebody as a proper steam valet will bring them up lovely.
Any offers - shoot me a PM if interested - I have the back seat too of course. I will be going for lighter, more sport centric seats at some point but need the OE items out of the way really.
Will try to get better light in there for improved pictures of condition etcPaul Nugent

Now for those RS6 replica wheels - they have been unloved like much of the rest of the car for too long... There is some kerning damage on them (mostly caused in one incident by a stupid cyclist in Belfast who I should have driven straight into rather than gouge my rims - but thats human instinct in the moment for you).
Anyway - I will put a FS thread up here and gumtree locally most likely - one of the three tyres is slightly more worn than the other. Then add two brand new tyres I have here.
All Kumho Ecsta KU31 225/40 ZR Y97XL - must make the price tag of £500 surely ???
I reckon on £40 each for the wheels... 40 each used tyre and 90 each for the new ones (they are 110 each if buying new elsewhere).Paul Nugent

Friend of mine Plastidipped his winterwhels a few years back, and they hold up great.
Wheels get a horrible beating in the Scandinavian winter climate (as you know).
Plasti dip is often quite overpriced by local importers vs the US pricing, but check prices from Plasti Dip in the UK, they will ship abroad (unlike Plasti Dip in the US).
Note: you can use paint thinner from Biltema, it is Xylene, and perfect for the Plastidip.
Importer recommended 60/40 Plastidip/thinner, but I got angle hair effect (dip dries too quicly leaving the gun), so I ended up at 40/60 ratio (60% thinner) in order to get rid of that.
Depends on type of gun, humidity, ambient temp, etc.
Turned out so nice that I almost started to park the RS2 outside the garage and the Golf inside.... but I got a super nice Tybond car cover for the Golf instead. Will make a separate post/thread on that car cover, because it rocks.Last edited by EspenW; 26 September 2014, 12:25.1995 RS2 on Alcohol (6.8sec 100-200km/h)

Getting back to the plot... little progress over the weekend... spent an hour underneath with various tools probing and scraping at surface rust areas to see if anything was serious or worrying. Delighted to report that I didn't discover any lurking nasty areas.
The photos below show some of the worse affected areas but its all surface - not structural. The two front jack points have the undersell damaged but even there the thick white undercoat and galvanisation have done their job extremely well.Paul Nugent

Some more pics - including the strange one of a dustpan - only point there to show the total amount of rusty crap that was scrubbed off after an hour of poking about the worst bits.
I have to give all those subframe bolts a proper soak in penetrating oil before attempting to fight them off.Paul Nugent
