Maybe I'm just being daft, but Jeff Beck sounds A LOT like KMFDM.

Then again... I am liking the BorgWarner (KKK) MatchBot application - its Turbology on Steroids for the EFR turbo sizing... Much easier to use than the Garrett tool.

This link looks interesting on paper with the EFR6758 - I have tweaked it for the smallest turbine that will deliver the target performance - should be a torque monster. Any comments - have I overlooked anything significant ?

Fantasy tuning by web site is a poor excuse for not actually having any spanners out tonight, but such is life !

Paul you need to adjust the turbine expansion ratios to get the turbine points on the 58 mm turbine curve. This will allow faster spool too. Here is my version of the same on the stroker. I tweaked it after this to get it better but forgot to book mark it.

Ps that's running the turbo very hard but not off the map... Over 500bhp is off the map...

Oh and I bought 2 6758 turbos. One as a spare but it might also be available [emoji1]

Paul I have tweeked your matchbot data to get the turbine points on the correct curve.

Also I have added a bit more boost in the top few points as this didn't reduce compressor efficiency any. 450ftlb torque and 480bhp. ...

Also this shows you have higher boost than turbine drive pressure to about 5k rpm which should be very efficient in terms of bsfc and torque making ability.

                    • Maybe my link was broken or incomplete - I did all the tweaking so the plots stayed on the same turbine curve - weird
I am going to look at the small one as well - virtually at least !

                        • Oh no my bad - I see what you did Des - my plot was on the 64mm turbine wheel - yours fit the 58mm which is better for spool. It was late !

The only 'problem' is that I was imagineering on a 400bhp setup for Lazarus - not something approaching 500 - will need stronger underpants !!!
Guess I can run the 6758 somewhat less aggressively and give me some margin.

What are you thinking for an EM ?

I am torn between Wagner EVO or a decent tubular but not done any real research on the latter.

                          • "that head" is an interesting story - I got bored with it years ago as another of life's unfinished projects - it was more to get some hands on experience of that whole porting milarkey but I wasn't brave enough to actually use it. I ended up throwing it out with a bunch of scrap metal from the V6Q disaster in a moment of despair !

                            • Ffs Paul lol. Yep man up and if your going for a built engine might as well go 450bhp minimum with low lag.

For low lag and torque stay with a rs2 type cast manifold. That EVO one should be fine. Mine is a eBay copy of the expensive wagner one. My thoughts are both can crack so why pay more. I did spend almost a full day sorting out the crap internal casting marks with a die grinder though. But with it polished inside maybe the lack of stress risers may help it from cracking.

My current setup that you mapped on motronic uses a copy rs2 manifold and it hasn't cracked in 50k miles, better than some stock rs2 manifolds.

The setup for the urq I have is a tube manifold, but it will be less durable but will flow up top for powwerrr. ..

                              • will you use some sort of revered IM? less volume and less losses will help getting the most out of a smaller turbo
