Its only taken me 10 years since I first owned a coupe quattro, but I've bought an S2
A lot of people will have seen my CQ project. I always wanted an S2 but could never afford one. I bought my CQ in 2007 and never planned to keep it for long, it was suppose to be a stop-gap until I got an S2, but the project ran away with itself and the rest is history. My CQ is in perfect mechanical condition, but the bodywork is like a Monet - nice from a distance but up close a bit of a mess. I can't justify spending thousands on a full repaint for it and the car be still worth nothing at the end, especially when I could buy an S2, sell the bits I don't need and end up with an S2 pretty much for free.
So the plan is tidy up the S2 and reshell my coupe quattro into it, and end up with the car I always wanted. In the process I want to create the ultimate fast road S2 in the spirit of what fast Audis are about - to be good at everything.
Here it is: Project Ultra

Early ABY - 1993
133k
LZ5U - Indigo Blue Pearl
Anthrazit jaquard interior
Platinum headlining
AC
The car was stripped for a project some years ago, so pretty much 100% complete but just in bits - suits me. I plan to strip the last few bits out of it and sort out what I need and what I don't. Since my CQ is pretty much built as I want it, there are not that many parts I need to buy.
Recap on the current rough spec of my CQ, most of which will go into the S2:
Blueprinted
Balanced
Wossner pistons
Aron rods
3B flywheel
Southbend Stage 4 Extreme Street
Standard head
RS2 airbox
Custom 3" turbo to back box
B7 RS4 gearbox
KW V1s
Boxster S calipers
Torsen rear diff
Digital climate
Jacquard Recaros
Bits I have already but not fitted yet:
MD357
Wagner RS2 Evo KKK
Wagner inlet manifold
RS4 rear hubs, caliper carriers & 2pcs rotors
URS6 rear calipers
Need to sort out:
996 turbo calipers & custom 2pc rotor setup
Fit heating elements to Recaros
.82 hotside
Injectors
Intercooler
Port head & machine deck cooling channels
Software - really not sure whether to stick with Motorinic or go aftermarket.
and looooooaaads of other little bit to make all of that work reliably.
First things first, I need to do a thorough inspection of the S2 shell and see what I need to do to make it mint.
