That EM is a work of art, the welding on the inlet is very tidy so I can understand leaving it on show as a feature, what colour is it going to be painted, the same silver as the other alloy parts?

Nice to see the subframe back on, a little step towards reassembly, it'll be well worth the wait!

Gonna be soda blasted to reinstate the rough finish then be painted an 'RS4 grey' I think!

        Discs have arrived:

And calipers back from being painted nice shiny red and embossed with the Porsche logo to maintain a little originality, just a little...

Will has to prepare for a show at Edition 38 next weekend so my project will be on hold until the 7th September apparently when it'll be all systems go...

            Coming along nicely

Going to be a very nice and tastefully modified RS2 when finished.

Good things come to those that wait.

Speaking for experience with VRS and Will. The wait will be very worth while and you'll be grinning from ear to ear upon your first drive!

I know I have absolute faith in William to create a car of absolute awesomeness! I'm just impatient cos I know how cool it's going to be and like a child I want it NOW!

I can agree with you on that one for sure. Coming home on leave and going down to see Will and my car I just wanted to to take it home on every visit despite it not being finished. Thats the big kid in all of us showing.

A little update as I'm sat at the computer.

                        Brake lines:

                        Rear anti-roll bar and mounts/bushes:

Rear arches POR15'd in semi-gloss black:

                        Oil drain:

                        Oil drain in grey:

Various other bits and bobs finished in grey:

Close-up of the inlet manifold, still some extra touching up to come with the lettering:

Same with the cam cover and the vented top cover:

Prop with a lick of paint:

Hubs now apparently "getting some love":

Little by little we're getting there. It's been a while since I've harassed Will, it's about time I went up to annoy him, and look at my car...

Thanks for the update / my fix.

Any more info re the rear ARB, looks pretty serious.

Why did you go with motec?
Also if you are going through such changes a reverse manifold is much more advisable. Merely for the fact of the reduction in hoses length alone makes it ideal. + easier to check for boost leaks.

As for ecu not because I own one, but vems is much cheaper, now has all the goodies you need, and you can go back to your own sensors whenever you want.

                            Nice project nonetheless

MoTeC cos Will said it is the dogs, and Dave Rowe is a master tuner with it - and you can still use the standard senders anyway, plus VEMS requires extra looms for features MoTeC already has. Will's the man to tell you why MoTeC is better not me, and at the end of the day it's more expensive for a reason!! He does explain it all to me, I accept it and then forget what he's told me!

Kept the manifold cos it looks cooler. I think! ...plus it's less faffing around having to change the cross member, mod the PS pump bracket, as well as possibly having to make room under the bonnet, the money's better spent making a fairly unique set-up... I think!

Essentially what I'm doing is giving free reign for William to have some fun constructing an awesome road car and enjoy the results!
