Ok, just had an update from Will, spec creep just got a whole lot worse, received this in text form:

Update city - Drilled brake discs front and rear ordered, callipers at paint shop, brackets being machined, compound 08 performance friction pads ordered. KW v3 on order, subframe bushes on order, engine and gearbox mounts ordered, Apikol rear diff mounts ordered. Head at machine shop as is block and crank, Mahle rings and Motorsport bearing shells have arrived inc thrusts. Block to be painted satin black. Cat-cams ordered. Pistons being machined. Rear subframe/wishbones/control arms all being powder coated. Solid rear axle bushes to go in.

And now there’s talk of a Wavetrac rear diff??? Apparently will be “epic”

Should make ADI and have Dave Rowe on hand for MoTeC support… looking forward to that!!!

Nice write up. What did you have done to the gearbox? Didn't realise will had a 4wd rolling road either

He doesn't have it yet, being installed later this month.

The gearbox is having a new 1st – 2nd gear hub & carbon covered synchros. Being painted too.

Ball's, I'm going to have my work cut out making my Coupe keep up with this!

Nice write up mate, this car is going to be truly awesome.

When are you planning on attaching the wings and landing gear?

The efr 7163 should be great!! But while your in there have you thought of building a stroker. Because more is always better...

Love this thread - I'd like to do something similar with my RS2 although I won't be taking it beyond 450bhp. Very interested in the spec you have gone for but asking myself how much of what you've had done would contribute to my objectives were I to follow the same route. For example, a baffled sump probably wouldn't be needed for street use.

Also: Has anyone suggested zeroshift transmission?

OMG Des - lol, he's done enough.

The spec of a Lotto winner so to speak.

Really should be epic. Should be a great benchmark / spec for others to aim for / admire.

Recently I caught up with some very old friends- who for many years have not managed to continue the heady pursuits of sex, drugs+ rock'n'roll, like wot I have.
I'm 55 now and haven't quite stopped(yet), despite responsibilities of work+ family ....my friends' point on discussing my lifestyle was, 'Hey Col, you do what we can't do anymore.. like you're doing it for us too!'

Automotively..I think Charlie is doing it for all of us who can't manage such vehicular excess.. in his own inimitable way..
Cheers mate, and thanks for the entertainment/inspiration!!

Well, Stuart, speaking to Will earlier it looks like we're to be stable-mates at ADI...

                        Goon news Charlie..

I'm hoping to be there in person if work commitments allow. Only made Audi's in the Park last year and the $hitty weather spoilt play.

Thanks for taking the time to write this up again. Sounds like a great setup for reliable everyday fast road use as well as long distance tourer. Hope to see it pulling away from me in the near future
