in a word, yes.

it is bizarre that sometimes it is fine and other times it wont even start and floods the plugs with over fueling.

Hence also affecting the operation of the idle valve etc

upon seeing 0.75v across all reference voltages/inputs I knew there was something up.

If I could have seen MAP/MAF voltages on OBD data I would have sorted it on the first day of looking at the car,

Never mind.

Sadly, I have not had the inclination to drive the car since Tuesday and fear I have lost all interest with it now.

I have just ordered a load of bits for the Sapphire and am already planning swopping the 2 cars over and storing the S4 and keeping the Saff at work.

I am going to pick a set of wheels up for the Sapphire tomorrow on a 5 hr round trip and oddly enough from my S4`s previous owner............!

I REALLY hope I can rekindle my love for the car tomorrow before the Sapphire comes out or I can see a donor car sat waiting and that is not what I want

I also have my go pro ripoff camera in the car so I will catch some boosty flaming goodness on the drive I hope before it gets dark

Heres hoping for some better fuel economy than £120 to 200 miles last weekend before it was fixed lol

Well, 130 miles to go pick the wheels up and no issues at all!

Boosted hard, cruised at 60, 70, 80 no cutting out!

And got 23mpg apparently......

Then on return journey, guess what....

Ecu cutting out again above 60mph in 6th!

****** lol

Still boosts and accelerate well into tripple figures, won't hold constant speed.

I think it is when going into closed loop and the tos is faulty, must be heat soaking it

Let the engine die to 0 revs with clutch in,
Give it 3 seconds and relay stops clicking and I can pop the clutch out and off we go

3 hours at 60 mph no issues.

Accelerate to tripple figures, dip clutch, freewheeling to 60 and NO cut out.

Tps? Will cut it open and have a look.

Tested fine at work.

And heater keeps going onto full blast on its own, scary lol

No vids, 2 hrs to my garage, 4 to get back, wouldn't hold more than 1800/2000 rpm 45 mph and kept cutting out.

I'm having a break from it for a while

Going to park it up and leave it for a few weeks and decide it's fate

Have you checked for any breaks in the wiring loom back to the ECU if its an intermittent fault.

yes, all done weeks ago and scoped waveforms from ECU plug and nothing to report.

although I think it is now cured,

Couldn't just let the old girl sit and rot so changed the G4 reference sensor and swopped RPM with old one and...........

well, just waiting for videos to upload..........

Nope, still no good.

45 mph up the M25/M11 last weekend.........

I was not flavour of the month with other road users at 5pm

just left it alone since I parked it up last sunday as it was making me think about getting rid one way or another

had lots of thaughts on the issue, how it occurs, and now settled on checking power inputs to ECU and outputs from ECU 12v wise.

today I had a brainwave about the 12v to ECU feeds,
Thermal Fuses, I thaught once they failed they were no good,
but no! They are self resetting!
HMMMMMMMMM
so I took one out and cut it open

(if you want pics, just ask and I will upload some!)

So I put 15a fuses in them all

then let it warm up and thrashed the absolute gentleman spuds off of it
put a proper smile on my face that did, and that is the only reason I have not stripped it/broke it for spares

Tomorrow, I will be at "work" doing this this this and hopefully curing the 1/1.5hr cutting out at speed fault................. this

Oh and job interviews in Essex Friday/Saturday as moving back there lol
