Paul, newsh is running 314 disks with 996 calipers and i think there is a couple of mm clearence, so i dont think it will.
Plus you'd need a few washers to space the caliper out if using a 323 disk with RS2 brackets. Not ideal IMHO
I thought the 323x30 worked fine without spacers... Haven't read all the posts on this - would really like to capture the highlights onto S2 Central and a sticky thread here.

these are 314x30 with 996 calipers under 17" wheels:
Agreed, it does all get a tad confusing.
Alistair used RS2 brackets when he did his conversion (jamos car) with 314 disks but altered to 304mm?? due to fouling.
What is the size of the RS2 disk (not the upgrade option disk)?
Ive never bothered looking at RS2 brackets because they cost a small fortune when i started my conversion, so i decided to make my own.
They are cheaper now though i think.
So in other words, im not much help, i'll get me coat
Does this fit 100% fine under S2 16" Avus using RS2 caliper carriers or is 314x30 the maximum disc that can be accomodated ?
Tried unsuccessfully to find a concrete answer to that here !
Paul
The difference in the rotors from 314 to 323 doesn't make a difference in the clearance of the wheel to the caliper. The 996 caliper on a RS2 carrier stays in the same place. Actually the brake pads are more centered on the 323 than the 314. The pad on location on the 314 is actually 1mm outside the rotor.
I did this write up for the Fourtitude forum. I may answer most of the questions. It has pictures 314 vs. 323 A8 rotors.
These are the pieces needed for upgrading a coupe from brake system to use Porsche 996 brakes. This model caliper comes on two different cars, the Porsche 996 or the Boxster S. The 996 brakes are black and the Boxster S brakes are red. It seems that you can get these calipers in silver...

They can have my car when they pry my cold dead fingers from the steering wheel.

@90Quattrocoupe,
What is the p/n of the 323x30 A8 (USA version) ?
Thanks, Chris

As that man said!
if you bash it all together with the 314 disks, the pads overlap the edge by a millimetre or 2.
With 323 disks, the calipers stay in the same place but the disk sticks out beyond the pads by a mm or 2. (No problem unless you wear a big lip on the edge and can't get the calipers off!)
The question as to whether it fits without fouling? ..... on mine it was too close for comfort. Others seem happy. I have loads of pics of mine showing what looks like enough clearance - but also the effects after just 5 days driving.

Greg - I liked that write up - it is one of the better ones I've seen, and with your permission I would like to include it on S2 Central. Firstly as a link to the fourtitude site, and then as part of my site. OK ? You will be credited of course for services to the sanity of S2 owners around the world.
Two more Q's
Were any spacers and such required or did the 996 calipers mount straight onto the RS2 caliper carriers ?
Out of interest - What is the Porsche or Brembo part for the 996 calipers ?

Surely if you are wearing that much of a lip into the 323 disk then its gonna be well worn past its best anyway. I'm thinking that the 323 disc is best, and that perhaps shaving it down to 322 (three-two-two) mm diameter would clear any potential issues with lips caused by pads biting in at the edge. Just a thought...
