Yep, that's right you only need to undo the the UJ on the inside of the fire wall to remove the whole steering column assembly and pedal box... Has you car got Pro-Con ten? As you'll also need to to detach the cable from the upper column to remove it.

If you've got other jobs to do under there such as repair the flaps on the heater boxes or repair wiring then I'd pull the dash out to do it, that makes life much easier.

No , I havent Proco ten...Yes, i have more jobs to do (add aftermarket ECU on the stock place) and change the laps as there is some **** flying from the heater box.
So that big joint you mean

I'd take the dash out in that case and do it all in one hit as it's make life much, much easier, no Pro-Con ten helps, one less thing to contend with.

Yes, that's the joint you need to undo to get the column out the way.

Update: hydraulic brake servo is removed...The flange holds on 3 studs, not 4. I removed the dashboard and it was much easier to get on that third nut...Now the pedal box is loose as well...only the steering rack is holding it...So I removed one nut no.12 and 2x no 21 nuts...anything else?

That's odd I'm sure there's four holes for studs in the spare servos I have, I was only looking at one the the other day... Anyway glad to hear you're getting there, pretty sure it's just those nuts you mention to tackle.

I wouldn't worry too much about removing the steering UJ, the 13mm head bolt will only go back easily if you have it in the correct position, if you can mark it with a couple of dots of paint.

Just don't move your steering wheel whilst it's apart and like Kit said, mark the joint position before removal.
