Fat Audi 80 have you got pics of the installation on the drivers side for the ballasts?

If i remember correctly Greg_S had problems as he had the RS2 Airbox like me as there's less room with it.

Ordered a set of the 501 4 Led sidelights in preparation.

Both Ballasts are on the passenger side behind the headlight. The only other thing I did have to do was lengthen the earth cable for the drivers side supply....

Un fortunately I did not take any pictures of the installation as my g/f had the camera in New York....

        Cheers,

I am really pleased to see you guys have come in from the (halogen Ellipsoid) dark side to my Xtreme light side

Nice to see some illumnated people here now (sorry!!!) I'm really happy you guys like them have you come along side any other car with better headlamps than your S2 yet? I don't think it will happen!!

Did you ever think you would say your S2 headlamps are the best headlamps on the road?

There are a few updates I can feedback here too:

1: I spoke at length about the bulb check warning problem with my kit maker and asked them to do all they could to prevent the warning on the dash by making the strike up time longer. They have lengthened the time it takes to start these Extreme HID's for me so they don't draw a current beyond the auto checks warning parameters. I was not overly hopeful that it would be enough to prevent the autocheck warning, so I am REALLY hapy to hear you guys say "what Autocheck problem?" that is a HUGE bonus I was not expecting!!

2: These new ballasts are slightly thicker than the pre-production ones I have on my S (which I only found out fom Paul ) so its possible you may struggle to fit the upgrade ballast into your old metal ballast bracket if you have an HID kit already and are upgrading to the Extreme's. If this is the case on your upgrade, then I'll have new ballast brackets available to give you FOC within the next 10-14 days. I'm having some made for me that I can send out. Please let me know if you need a pair.

          3. ENJOY headlights that work!!!

          4. I have already got special HID kits being made now for our fog lamps!!! so they will be availalbe soon should anyone want to do that!! I've designed a special set and had them made so we CAN have HID fogs!! they will be brighter than a halogen fog by a long way and 6000k rating so they'll match the main HID's fine. Due to the construction.... (my SECRET, aint telling!!!) the price of these fog kits will be LOW. Fitting them (lack of space) will NOT be an issue!!! again... my secret design watch this space!!

I am really happy you guys like these new Xtreme kits!!
          Cheers!!

NO such problem with my kits , I had them manufactured to my spec so both ballasts can be mounted as Steve says on the one side behind the LH headlamp as there isn't any room on the airbox side. We had to up the output of one ballast to drive the longer high voltage lead as current loss is measureable along even a 1.5 metre long lead! that took a little while to perfect to make sure the color output of both bulbs was identical.

And you think its 'just' a pair of bulbs...... tch... I don't know... why do I bother....??!! the time and effort I've put into these babies....

I managed to bodge in my HIDs tonight (without Scotchloks ). So I've worked out what bits i need to do the job proper. I just need to lengthen a few cables and job's a good'un!
But at least they work. And what a difference!

                  Here's the before shot.

I had to double check I used the same aperture and shutter speed for both pictures. But they really are that much brighter.
