Where's the best place to source some HID's right now?
Is the main beam completely redundant with HID fitted?
I still use my main beam (have the PIAA Extreme H1's in there) even though I have HID dipped.
VAG Parts still do a HID kit for the S2 but to be honest, you can pick them up from loads of places online. Fitted a set to a Seat Leon the other day - I think the set cost about £100 and they're no different to the ones in my car (which are from VAG Parts) other than the leads between the ballast and bulb being the same (short) length, rather than a long and a short one. The advantage of the latter is that you can fit both ballasts on one side of the car, rather than having to place them by each bulb housing.
Best place to get HID's is via Jas11n ( shameless plug )
Thanks Jamo, but just for the record.
The GB on the HID's closed just after Christmas.
Seems the guy who supplied me, had changed the manufacturer he used and the new kits weren't what I'd tested for months before starting the GB and a couple of the last to purchase had some strange side effects.
A switch of kit would have been fine normally, "after" a bit of testing etc, but the guy didn't even bother telling me! the .
I can't recommend any other kits, simply because I ain't tried any. VAGparts kit is the way to go, tried and tested by many on here and elsewhere..
