Multi Function Temp Switch.

Trying to double check the wiring to the MTF on the water manifold on an /aby avant.

First - 4 connectors attaching into a 3 pin switch - ?? (new switch)

Next thing is the colour identification of the wires to each connector ?? -After twenty years these are not the brightest on the planet.

Also there is the access - its NOT an easy place to live - loom wires are quite short !! - Think I might need to remove the radiator to get better access.

Any one got any experience of this job.

Tell me about the access, i was able to get a little more length on the wire by threading the spur with the MTFS thread back behind a breather pipe and moved the hydraulic lines a bit. Cutting off the old plug, and fitting a new one with a few inches of loom 'extension' attached seems like the best way to go.

I must be dumb or something - could not locate this thread on the search !!!

I assume for us electrical apprentices - BR/BL means predom Brown with black stripe.

Really could do with a cut off plug with wires still intack - tall order though!!

Huuum - Bought plug and wires from audi dealer - big wires ??

Having trouble with the BLUE / YELLOW & BLUE GREEN in diagram.

I have a BLUE-YELLOW/WHITE stripe sort of wire ??? Not to mention that YELLOW and GREEN becone a bit same-ish after 18 years approx.

Anyone come accross this problem !!!!!coocoo:
