    Recirculating dump valves

Trying to choose one from here

404page - Forge Motorsport - Designer and Manufacturer of Intercooolers, Actuators, Valves, Pipes, Silicon, Wastegates, and Brakes - Engineered for Performance in the United Kingdom

Thinking prolly one of these.. But which one, I don't understand the differences?

    FMDV006

    or
    FMDV007P

Or is the bailey one better?

    DV30

Anywhere to buy the Bailey online? Any experience with either, or other suggestions welcome

I have the 006, and Forge have been VERY helpful for queries and for sending me, free, a new piston, seal and grease to service it.

Mine will also chatter on gear changes

I chose not to choose life: I chose something else. And the reasons? There are no reasons. Who need reasons when you've got quattro?

        John,

I have used the Bailey DV now for a couple of years with no problems (actually as you saw at Greg's the other week I have two fitted now ), I am very happy with the performance. The Bailey also comes out quite well in the Diverter valve face off, in Josh's link.

I've been using the Forge jobbie without any problems. They're not cheap, but you do get fantastic aftersales service from Forge motorsport. So, I go for one of these again if I needed to. Like Doug, I've had free servicing kits for it too

I'm running the Bailey DV30. No problems what so ever.

I got mine by phoning Bailey direct on 01763 246660. The chap there seemed knowledgable enough. It came to £107 with delivery I think.

Is there anyone here who has installed a blow off valve (release to atmosphere) on their S2?

I'm feeling stupid here - what do these do and what advantages over what presumably is a part that is already on the car are you looking for?

i have baileys on . stuck slightly open on 2 occasions causing an obvious lack of boost . i.e . only got to 12/ 13 psi . i thought o my god ......the 1st time. lol.stripped it and lubed, no probs since . only thing was i didn't have any proper lube ... so suppose it will happen again sometime . n.b max boost 1.6 bar (24 psi).

Thanks guys, is he saying in that article that the Forge valve should be installed backwards??

On the subject of why to buy one, apparently the stocker can give out once you start to turn the wick up, they can get very hot and melt, also , because they're plastic its difficult to get the hose clamps tight enough and you can blow a hose off, and lastly the aftermarket ones are more bling bling...

Can't work out what the difference is between the 2 different Forge valves..

I'm leaning towards the Bailey, if I could order one online I'd do it now.

As far as I know the differences are:

                          - The 006 top is bolted onto the body. The 007P top is threaded onto the body.

                          - The 006 is larger than the 007P (at least the external dimensions, don't know about the internals). It might be tight to fit the 006 on an otherwise stock setup.

Dont bother with a blow off valve. Its **** and makes the car stall all the time. Plus the noise gets on your nerves its too loud and crap. The re-circ one sounds better and does make the car stall. Also a blow off valve needs to be moved from the original place up to the pipe by the throttle housing

I have a 006 and it is a very tight fit on my stock ABY. Hats off again to Forge..I asked for a blue spring which is stiffer than the standard green pne and 2 o-rings to give my valve a service...next day an envelope appeared on my doorstep. All items were sent to me for free. Fantastic customer relations!!
